Hi Sanko,
This is indeed a good news. Please ask them to call my brother's no. Or my Thai number. I would like to know what type of payment options I have. Thanks again!

Deckard Cain,
Yeah... Finally! Will post some pictures when I got it. I'm not good at reviewing anything maybe a mute video too. smile.gif
*
Aiyo, mute video is fine. Fingercrossed everything should be ok. Man, the moment you start up is the moment you'll remember for months. biggrin.gif No need review. All you need to say is "THIS IS THE SHIT" followed by pictures. I'm sure ppl will understand biggrin.gif

My current laptop is acer 4730ZG....its abt 3 to 4 years old. plus I'm doing my STPM, exam till mid Dec. So I think its time to buy a better laptop for the coming long holidays and Uni live(hopefully)  unsure.gif  I hope that my new laptop can last 4 to 5 years for gaming at high settings.  smile.gif

Mmmm.. 4-5 years at high setting might be a little high on expectations. With how fast current technology is moving, even the new games are giving most laptop graphic cards a hard time at high setting. Take for instance BF3.. already the 580M cards can't perform at high setting and that's the latest card on Gaming Laptops. So it will last you probably 2-3 years on mid setting hopefully. Anyway, MSI gaming laptops are still beast and worth the buy. Nothing like flashing your mobile disco machine wherever you go. biggrin.gif

i hope in terms of MSI after sales service, they'd do do better than the Asus one. Read quite a lot of users complaining about Asus doin the job not up to the expectation.

i'll be buying a lappy for my sister too tomorrow, apart from the GT780DXm but is MSI X460DX any good?  blush.gif
*
Why not get the GT683 for your sis just like me biggrin.gif . Pricewise good, performance wise good, size wise good, everything wise good rclxms.gif I'm pretty sure MSI will provide good service for it's clients. Afterall, I've not heard any complaints so far here and it goes to show that they're doing a pretty good job.

GT683 is expensive la. wana buy the GT780DX plus the GT683 sure bankrupt later.  sad.gif

and my sis wants the thin one, and price cannot be too expensive. dats why am eyeing for X460DX or Asus U46SV for her.
*
Well, I think after using MSI with no problems at all, I'm very confident with the product. Everything is ace and the price is reasonable. I'm sure the X460DX is as good and not will not disappoint. Asus, no comment as i've not used it before. Anyway, hopefully you'll be getting yours soon. More family members to add here smile.gif

^what do you mean?

btw guys is it better to turn on the cooler boost while gaming? i installed speedfan, but there's no indication whatsoever about the internal fan speed rpm. how to know and perhaps control it manually?
*
I don't think you can manual set the fan's rpm if that's what you mean but I do know they have a fan icon right above your keyboard. Press on it and it will light up and you'll feel the fan speed increase.

If you play around more especially with the power option and the nvidia settings, you will be able to improve your game performance and graphics but I would recommend that you know what they are 1st before playing with it.

i installed MSI afterburner. but still doesnt pair it with BF3 for the test. seems working fine for now in Ultra Settings.
*
Well, the 570 card works ok wit BF3, only have to tone down certain things like AA and anisotrophic filtering but you can still push a bit more coz i've tried it smile.gif. also, i'm playing BF3 too. which server do you play?

You should've gotten the 17" earlier if your prime concern is gaming biggrin.gif
*
Yeah but my concern was work actually. I use it for work presentation and stuff so carrying it around was my main reason of buying a 17". Now since I've quit my job and no more presentation, I use lots for gaming. Also, the time I got my GT683, there weren't any 17" with a 560M GPU. I can game with it at the moment, its no problem just not on ultra setting on Battlefield 3 biggrin.gif

Ya, Nanya Tech is Elixir =)

My default clocks are 575/1150/1500 and my current overclock settings are 700/1400/1620.. It can go higher but I'm satisfied with this setting.. Did u try overclocking?

I realised it's underclock when P1 button is not on, yet it still plays smoothly when I play via projector (orgasmic baby!) wink.gif
*
With Projector?? wahhh!! hardcore ah. Anyway, did u get BF3?

I usually watch movies with the projector, so I tried gaming with it. Turns out that it's awesome especially with the audio wink.gif

Go give it a try, haha..

Get? Nah, I had to buy the game myself.. I played the whole NFS The Run already, loved the game because of the graphics and that I manage to get the control of the cars XD

Played Spiderman Shattered Dimensions and Transformers War for Cybertron too.. Now I'm gonna try out COD MW3 and Batman Arkham City =)

What games have u tried?
*
No time for other games at the moment. Only playing BF3 and Skyrim which is enough to take up part of my life... MW3 i've played and not impressed because after playing BF3 and witnessing its frost engine beautiful graphics, I can never any other online shooter. It's just beautiful and the explosion and everything is just so real. You should really get it. So how's the 570m card doing with all the games you've played so far? Ultra settings no lag?

Should I get myself a MSI GT783 or Alienware? Or maybe Asus g74?
*
Previously using Alienware M17 then bought MSI GT683. M17? Loads of issues.. mine maybe defect or something but Dell did a rubbish job and couldn't settle the problem. MSI GT683, NO PROBLEM AT ALL! Not even a single issue and I love how it looks. Like a mobile disco machine.

Hey all, It's been a while since I actually wrote here. I'm just going to share my experience recently with MSI. Recently, my power adapter decided to die on me so without any hesitation, I called MSI customer careline and ordered a brand new one. This lady called Su attended me and told me that the adapter would take 2-3 weeks to arrive since it's a gaming model and do not have any in stock so I said ok and waited. After 2 weeks I called in and asked her and she told me that their logistics has placed the order and that I had to wait so ok.. I waited and on week 3, called in again to ask if it has arrived. She then calmly told me that the logistic department had forgotten or missed out my orders and that they would have to place it again.

Now, I thought, Holy Sh!t, another 2-3 weeks for a power adapter? Ok, here's the thing, I always believe that after sales service solution is important. I run a business and I will always find solutions for my customers. Sadly though she didn't and I proceeded to ask her if MSI was able to courier the Adapter as I will pay for the courier service and worst still, my current work is all in the laptop so I had to explain to her the importance of having that adapter soon. She told me that she will help me with it and I said fine. After 2 weeks, no calls... seriously, I was really agitated. There's no follow up whatsoever with customers and again, I had to make a call and ask what the status of my adapter was. She again told me that she has sent an email and was waiting for a reply.. after 5 weeks?? Now 7th week and no follow up no news..

Then, I went over to computerwarz is SS2 as usual and for anyone familiar with (Wah Chai) who works there, I told him my issue and straight away he called someone in MSI and gave him a beating on the phone and told the person about it. Believe it or not, 3-4 days after that call, I finally got my adapter.

Now, I'm not discouraging anyone from buying an MSI laptop but just sharing my experience with their customer careline support and I have to say that it is downright disappointing and frustrating. This is only an Adapter that we are talking about and it took 8 weeks to get it. No follow up, No solutions and downright poorly handled just for a power adapter. I am thankful for Wah Chai's help but I'm really saddened at the fact that he had to make the call for me to finally get my adapter. Should customers be facing this kind of issues for just a small thing?

I guess the moral of the story for me is, it's not just the branding but most importantly the after sales service and MSI really disappointed me on service. Product wise, I've never had any problems at all and it's been a year + but this really left a sour taste in my mouth and I decided to not get GT70 with the 680 card which I was planning to get from gentech. I will have to look into a different brand and their after sales service and solutions which I think is the most important part.
