Anybody know where to get larger capacity battery + charging dock? Its time for me to fully utilize my Torchie in which will cause faster battery drains.
Thanks in advance! |

Just wondering, any audiophiles using Torch as their source? Never been bothered with it before until recently I tested my new headphone on it. Surprise surprise its sounded better than my Ipod and on par with my Cube C30.
The reason why I bought higher capacity batts. LOL. |

Yup, too bad right? But I guess most BB users are more towards BBM, email/messaging and social media.
At least I found review that covers the music audio part. http://www.gsmarena.com/blackberry_torch_9...eview-516p6.php With the addition of Headset Music EQ features, the sound quality is by far on par with other good players. But you need to use a good headphones to appreciate. |

Whether Torch is good or not is very subjective. We have this discussion so many times already. If you're used to qwerty keypad like the Bold, better off with another upgraded Bold.
Torch on another hand is for those who loves touchpad but want BB features at the same time. Or want both touchpad and qwerty pad. |

QUOTE(khopl @ Aug 1 2011, 11:12 PM) Yeah, I get what you mean...honestly, I personally feel using a qwerty keypad is much better than tapping on-screen, no matter how great the response and sensitivity. I think the Bold is a very business oriented phone...no frills, no bull****...with arguably one of the best qwerty keypad in the market. Its like a legend in its class... Haha I had the same problem like you before I decided to get Torch. Previously I was using Bold 9000, its already perfect, the only downside was the OS/software and the battery life. I was contemplating on getting the upgrade Bold 9700. But after playing around with my friends' Torch (updated OS/firmware), I decided to go ahead with it.However, one of the main reasons Im also considering Torch is the bigger screen which undoubtedly makes browsing and emails a better experience compared to Bold...IMHO. As I've mentioned Im currently using Nokia E72 and browsing with a screen that size is pretty annoying to me...and from what I see, the Bold 9780 is roughly about the same size too. I think its better if you go and try the phone before deciding. If it werent for my friends, I would just buy the new Bold as its already well-proven. |

Bold 9780 is considered the perfect Bold bro! Normally I will suggest ppl to go for it IF they have older Bold. Seriously, you cant go wrong with it.
I cant suggest you Bold 9900 though. Its still very new, previews only on stereotype units. You have to wait for it to release first and then give time for them to sunk in among the crowd. Thats when you will get first hand reviews on it. Torch on the other hand, is also great. For me, they've made a mistake prior and after releasing it to the masses. The OS/firmware was bad. It was slow. The touch sensitivity was horrendous. They've since improved the firmware but its already too late. Bad reviews already scattered around the net. Those ppl like Engadget and Gizmodo cant be bothered with the improved version to rewrite their reviews. Whats done cannot be undone. Shame on RIM. |

QUOTE(khopl @ Aug 2 2011, 09:47 PM) Well, yea I guess thats one of the reasons Torch wasn't selling as well as expected? Anyway, at least they managed to fix it with latest firmware. Mine can last 2 1/2 days. I only BBM heavily with my wife. Only once in awhile with my friends. WhatsApp is very rare. Twitter has become my news source, so it is ON 24/7. Overall, I'm not a heavy user. Just surf to wiki or google information that popped up during conversations and such.I wish I have more time....coz Im sure the highly anticipated 9900 and Torch 2 will be out very soon. But the problem is, I need to decide & get a BB in the next couple of days. At the moment, I'm 70% sold on Torch mainly due to its larger screen. And by the way, how do you find the batt life on your Torch? Added on August 2, 2011, 10:06 pmOne thing about Torch, its just unfortunate that it was the first device to came out with OS 6. So the OS instability/immaturity really effected the phone's credibility aswell. I find it, quite unfair. This post has been edited by EightPhantomz: Aug 2 2011, 10:06 PM |
