Need to send the warranty card one ah??? I didn't send, but yet able to get 1 to 1 replacement unit.

Before I went to brightstar, I asked what things do I need to bring (ie, receipt, box, warranty card, etc)... They said no need, the phone will do.
*
no need to send warranty card and stuff. they just use the sticker and IMEI/serial number which is in their database.

and u r quite lucky.
my recent torch was not accepted for 1-to-1 exchange for SIM card failure.

A forummer here dropped it when I was going to sell it to him and there was a small chip on the top right corner.
so those Brightstar guys need to send it to Singapore to verify whether it still is accepted for warranty.

have to wait for 1.5 months.

No, dat slimeball fatty didn't clean up his mess. I juz return back money to him as an honourable (maybe stupid) person.
Now I am without bberry for a mth & a half.
Also brightstar may decide not 2 provide warranty bcos of de small chip.

Dear torch users,

After the v6.0.0.246 update which claims to improve performance, i was wondering, is it really better? Is the web browser less laggy? Like when pinch to zooming it doesn't really freeze up as much? I really want to know abt it.

I'm using the iPhone 3GS now but the torch really caught my attention! What do you guys suggest me? Wait till blackberry include a more up to date processor in it? Or buy the torch now?

Despite the 3GS havin a less up to date proc( 600 MHz), I feel it is still quite snappy. Does the torch use a different/similar proc to the 3GS? Cuz the torch has a slightly higher MHz at 624. Why does the torch has not really good performance?

Best way is to test it out urslf b4 committing 2 a buy.
U may spend so much time reading specs n reviews, but nothing beats hands on trial.

But u r an iPhone user, and apple has de best touch OS in de business. Not even de android herd can challenge it yet. Maybe windows phone 7. But definitely not bb.
Consider torch on blackberry's strengths, touch is juz bonus.

I live in Kuching where I dont really see BBs. I wish I could, but, I can't find a working torch unit(not demo unit) that has the updated os on it. I only used a bb bold 9780 before (a shopkeeper's phone) and I kinda liked it! Especially the keyboard, it really rocks!

So what do you suggest I get if I was given the choice? The bold or the torch? If the torch were to have a faster processor so the browser isn't that laggy, I might seriously consider buying it and replacing my iPhone.

For sure I will recommend Torch rather than Bold if you have the budget... In term of LCD it is very satisfying in terms of size plus touchscreen also an advantage...

coming from an iphone-->blackberry-->iphone user, if u like de smoothness of touch and beautiful interface, keep ur iphone.

if u always chat/sms/typing, den the best bb is still de bold series. it's de perfect berry.

some ppl say nokia e-series keyboard is better. so dun base ur purchasing decision on juz de keyboard.
the other strengths of bb platform is security, push email (of course) and bbm.

i've owned a torch (until slimeball fatty ruined it sad.gif ) and the browser is no where as smooth as iphone safari.
even zoom in/out pictures is a stuttering process initially.

but if u choose a bb, u have to choose its strengths rather than dwell on de negatives.

imho, de only advantage torch has over de bold series, is de larger screen.

BIS means Blackberry Internet Service. It is used for push emails and internet services.
without it, it is still possible to make calls and send SMS.

but what's de point of using a BB without BIS/BES right? rclxub.gif
