BTW, all my flash drive and HDD are formatted in NTFS. I don't think that would be an issue rite?

Hi! I just got myself a new Samsung LED 40" Series 5 (UA40EH5000R). But having a problem here with the ConnectShare. I tried to play 1 mkv file from a flash drive and it is working fine. But when I tried to plug in my 2 of my external HDD, it wont detect any movies in it at all. I check from the Information it can still read the drive capacity and free space though....

QUOTE(MugenK20A @ Oct 5 2012, 02:57 PM) Actually ur facing the same prob like me. Flash drive or USB can play but external HDD can detect storage but no files inside. My Samsung LED manual stated that it can detect anything but ext hdd NO. I tried using BD player to play the same format & the quality from BD player was way better than using LCD itself. U have any external players like PS3 or BD player? u mean external media player quality is way better then the Connect Share? I got a WD Live TV, and the quality is superb with HDMI. But is kinda disappointed that we are having this problem. My friend using 46" model got no issue with HDD.![]() This post has been edited by GKWong: Oct 5 2012, 03:16 PM |

QUOTE(MugenK20A @ Oct 6 2012, 10:38 AM) U got the same Samsung media player like mine which can play movie, pictures, songs, etc. But somehow external players did produce higher quality if playing same file formats. Did u checked with the firmware whether is it update? I think is best to google & search for the issue based on ur LCD model. I am using the latest firmware already from Aug-2012. My unit was produced at September 2012. BTW, I tried another of my new HDD and it work! It seems like it is having some issue with Seagate HDD. Now I use WD HDD and it is working without issue. |

QUOTE(MugenK20A @ Oct 6 2012, 10:55 AM) Glad that u managed to solve that. Since u said ur LCD firmware is the most up-to-date version, problem lies in the HDD itself. So u can enjoy ur movies now yea.. got a problem though with the MKV subtitle yesterday. Maybe not compatible. The subtitle able to turn on, but it just flicker awhile for it lines.... |

QUOTE(FALSEALIAS @ Oct 16 2012, 12:37 PM) LOL. NOT TRUE. SERIES 6 HAS A HIGHER REFRESH RATE, VERY OBVIOUS SUPERIOR COLOUR & CONTRAST DEPTH AND IS WAAAAY MORE BETTER AT PROCESSING FPS - SO LESSER LAGGY FRAMES, MOTION BLUR, GHOSTING, ETC... I am using Series 5. It has 2 HDMI port for the 2012 model. Previously got 4 HDMI ports.... i think they cutting cost..SERIES 5 MAY EVEN HAVE CABLE ISSUES TOO... HDMI SUPPORT? TO MOD > CAPS R LOCKED. |

Do you guys normally buy the extended warranty for Samsung TV? Normally is covered for 2 years by default. But I've been hearing a lot of my friends and others saying that most of their TV having issue after 2 years.
For myself last 2 weeks I just bought a 40" Series 5 with 2+3 years extended warranty paying extra around 350+- I think is quite worth for it, because maybe after 4 years your TV will be obselete and maybe no more spare parts. By that time they will replace for you a new model in which the price range is the same as the TV you purchase. |

My Samsung UA40EH5000RXXM panel dead 2 weeks ago. The extended warranty technician not able to repair and after much delayed they agreed to replace a new unit for me which is UA40H5008ARXXM. Not sure how is the process exactly on the replacement, tech told me the previous shop will deliver to me, but the shop told me they never provide replacement for 1 to 1 exchange before. Because if possible, I am planning to top up and get a 40" Series 6.
