Meanwhile I'm still hunting high and low for update 1201 for Malaysia set of K Series TV.
So far only UK site has it, and hell UK firmware don't work with Malaysian set even though it is the same model designation. Must be the EU thingie on the firmware |

QUOTE(ukiya @ Aug 7 2017, 03:54 PM) I'm done a lot of reading recently and survey recently. Tecnically iinm the old OLED tech lifespan is short but the latest breakthrough as of last year or this year is like 100k hours already (of course not all OLED is created equal)From what I "observed" from shop to shop... I realized that OLED, when is Black is perfect Black. It's awesome at some point. But when picture in black or mild black, pictures tends to be completely black whereby QLED, when its black its 98% black. Can see some lighting here tat looks like noise in the picture. That makes some percentage of the darkness to be more revealing... OLED have certain lifespan but it's not greater than LED.!? OLED might be the future tho as many manufacturer venture into this technology even Apple soon. But QLED probably just marketing gimmick but HDR1500 really nice... at least no need worry about the burn mark in near future. Read a lot ... getting confused and tired some time... Might just get what it is ... n be done with it. IINM Q7F is still Edge dimming right? The best way to see dimming is like running a movie with those white middle logo as the start screen (usually it is like SONY or something in the middle in white lettering) OLED you will see pitch black background (cause the individual pixels is turn off for blacks) while Edge dimming will dim the backlight from each corners until the word sony so you'll see like blooming effect (bright in the middle i.e. gray like black, dark at the rest of the screen) I would just say buy whatever your budget allow Do take note though that tech sort of change rapidly nowadays so a 5 to 7 year old TV is like approaching the time when you feel itchy to upgrade again hahaha. You know 4K and HDR is pushed out quickly cause the TV manufacturers want to sell more TV right? HDR is not even at the stable version yet XD |

QUOTE(NeCaRaS @ Aug 8 2017, 10:10 AM) hi..k5100 49 inci LED, is it OK? any owner here? No not all files. It is more of the video encoding support. Samsung newer TV has a bigger range of support, but it doesn't cover "all"1st time want to use samsung tv here. i heard that ALL movie file type supported by samsung. is it true? http://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00050186/ look under Supported Video Resolutions and Codecs QUOTE(cycloon @ Aug 8 2017, 11:07 AM) I think fastest way to do it is by accessing the service menu and check the total panel on time (I believe it can also be reset but well not many shops will do that) |

QUOTE(ukiya @ Aug 8 2017, 02:57 PM) Model MU7000 65" I find MU7000 has better build quality than KS7000 anywaysI contacted Samsung. They help me to look for it. And some sale person contacted me back with this quotation and its a roadshow unit. And 65 inch is always better than 55 inch especially in the living since more screen space is more immersive (i remember you mention your seating is also roughly 6 feet plus so that's perfect) (PS KS7000 has no 65 inch variant release in Msia, only bigger one than 55 would be 60, and it's damn rare) Color reproduction is comparable on both panels (roughly the same), brightness is well, pretty good (KS7000 can get brighter a bit more) The only thing missing is the moth eye coating I think, which if there is no bright light source reflecting or sun reflection, you can't really notice it. Regardless it's a good buy. Enjoy your new TV at your new home XD BTW what's the damage? IINM 65 inch is priced high, and the RRP is like 5 digit number haha. QUOTE(Ivan_T @ Aug 8 2017, 04:34 PM) Not sure about build quality but don't think the MU7000 and KS7000 are the same in picture quality. I have seen the KS7500 (curve version of KS7000) and MU7000 both 65" side by side showing the same video, the KS7500 to me is significantly better. KS7000 should be more closer to that from the QLED series. Also among the MU, MU9000 is the best, the only problem is it is curve, not my taste. Well in spec and online review, the KS 7000 series rivals the Q7 (and in some ways, the Q9 as well). But that's on paper and on very specific tests. In terms of price successor, the MU7000 is the successor of the KS7000 (price successor, not spec successor). What is the lowest price for 65" MU7000? I think it is same or higher than the LG SJ850t which might be a better choice. Anyways with the rarity of the older models (it has been discontinue for close to a year already), sometimes you got no choice but go for the next best thing. And the MU7000 (MU8000 in US) is not a bad panel, it is not technically marketed as SUHD (they rebranded it back to UHD), the peak brightness is lacking, but as far as color goes I believe it is not too much worse. It's still a decent mid range offering TV, I find it loads better than comparable 65 inch IPS panel offering by LG for instance. QUOTE(Ngto @ Aug 8 2017, 05:03 PM) MU7000 is not a 2017 replacement for last year KS7000. MU7000 in Malaysia is MU8000 in US. it's a 120hz panel if i recall correctly. It is only HDR10 compatible, not full HDR10 certified. It does not have even half the peak brightness required by hdr10, although it has the WCG. It's only a 60hz panel so might have some judder when watching 24p movies. But I will further check the specs to see if it's the same as the foreign reviews and post tonight. Got to go somewhere now. |

They offer me plus RM499 additional 2yrs warranty. 2yrs+2yrs, 1st yr all risk warranty. Need additional warrranty, worth it? I don't think Samsung will honor extended warranty offered by let's say for example, SenQ. |

QUOTE(Ivan_T @ Aug 10 2017, 10:23 AM) I only know Lazada got it. KS7000 is definitely a good buy but unfortunately the 55" is small for me. I'm looking for 65" flat panel and it is so difficult to get a good one for RM7K-8K budget. Any suggestion? QUOTE(ukiya @ Aug 10 2017, 10:28 AM) Best Denki still have stock for KS7000 65" for around RM7K ish ... fast fast go grab... display unit tho. Not sure got new. I saw last saturday. Best Denki 1U, opposite the Auntie Anne's Pretzel. QUOTE(Ivan_T @ Aug 10 2017, 10:33 AM) There is no 65" for KS7000, unless you are talking about 60". Anyway I will check out this weekend. TQ. It's probably the KS7500 65 inch (I see that still floating around alot due to the higher price = harder sell. In fact I believe brand new units for those is still floating around multiple places.QUOTE(ukiya @ Aug 10 2017, 10:39 AM) Budget around 1K plus. with blu ray if possible. For 5.1 you may want to look for those Samsung unit with the wireless unit for the back speakers, makes wiring so much easier to handle.Coz I m putting into my condo living room. a decent sub plus 5.1 or 7.1 is good enough but aint sure which to get. Thinking of this set. Not sure good or not? Lazada Samsung 1 When got money later on, only will go for higher end. I do like whaferdale... denton anniversary. But no budget to stretch at the moment. Not sure if got such set for below RM1k though, I believe I got mine for like 3k+ 5 years ago LOL. |

QUOTE(Ivan_T @ Aug 10 2017, 11:44 AM) Yes, KS7500 65" is easy to find and it cost ~RM9k++ for new set, the main problem is I don't like curved tv. LOL. Hmmm my HT-6750W did not sound like crap though. It's old though so I don't have support for the latest Dolby like Atmos. Feel like upgrading hahaha but man new sets are so darn expensive nowadays. For the Home Theater set, suggest don't go for the wireless unit, half of the price of the unit will be just for wireless feature and the RM2-3K unit will sound like crap, had one before from Sony. If you can increase your budget to RM2-3K, there are much better option. |

QUOTE(Ivan_T @ Aug 10 2017, 12:23 PM) LOL....Your HT-6750W will sound like crap if you have the proper HT system. In fact all these thin and tall speakers from the bundled system all sound crap.. hahaha! ATMOS is not only about the AVR, you need support of the ATMOS speakers as well. PM me lol. I may want to look into changing it since I kinda have concealed cables for speakers during reno that I didn't use.If you have budget at even RM2.5K, I can intro a set which will be better than yours. Of coz if you have RM8k budget it will be much easier... hehe! But most HT system are not good for stereo music, you need to add stereo amp. Kinda need ARC and audio sound support like DTS I guess. Let's start with 2.5k Entry Level XD |

QUOTE(ukiya @ Aug 10 2017, 12:58 PM) wah... shooting high n high now... Nah when i say wireless it is just that there is a powered box routing the back 2 speakers (it doesn't mean battery LOL)my wife also joke with me sometime... say i can afford to buy an earphone for RM1600 ish (Westone UM Pro 30) but now hardly afford a RM2k ish plus sound system... lol... she must be dunno how much i had spend for the new house then... I do agreed some time wireless can be a great issue when come to battery power and low batt performance or wireless transmission. But with my current budget constraint, any cheap n not so pro recommendation for sound system tat matches my new tv? dont wanna potong steam... with great tv but a poor sound... potong wey... Samsung MU7000 do have a proper sound system. But added a speaker at least play HD not so crappy ... Anyways previously during reno 5 years ago I did route a 12 gauge speaker cables (2 to the back, 3 to the front) in expectation of getting a higher end speaker. End up budget constraint (5.1 Onkyo was going like 5 digit figure at that time) so end up the cable is just left hanging there and I got a bundled BD HT system from Samsung (regret liaw hahaha, the surround is like mediocre XD) But it was cheap ah at that time for a 7.1 with the gimmick vacuum tube amplifier thing. |

Well back to Samsung TV LOL
My KS7000 (and in fact the previous LED TV ES6220 have this sort of weird problem with ARC (HDMI Receiver) for my HT-6750W Occasionally it just refuse to pair at all so I ended up giving up and just use the Optical Cable. However today I manage to revive it again. The remedy was leaving my HyypTV box to on instead of standby (once I put it to standby it stop pairing again) ROFL weird ass problem. |

QUOTE(voncrane @ Aug 10 2017, 11:46 PM) I experience the same thing too and we are not alone as I've been asked such in the past by other forummers. There's something about the Hypptv STB that messes with the HDMI-ARC and HDMI-CEC connection between my Samsung TV & HT. For them to auto switch on or off, the STB has to be switched on first (or left on) before pressing the power button on the TV or HT remote to resume from standby. This weird issue only happens if the STB was powered on and used in conjunction with the TV and HT. Else, if completely powered off or left permanently in standby, no such issue. Yeah this morning the whole HDMI-CEC (for every damn device) decide to unpair itself after working for a day.So I turn off both HT and HyypTV STB (the STB is connected to my HT/BD HDMI in) and unplugged the HDMI 4 and wallah CEC works back after reboot. Maybe I should just leave the damn STB plugged off permanently. |

QUOTE(vostroxe @ Aug 11 2017, 04:57 PM) iIf PS4/HDR then I you probably need to hunt high and low for KS7000 XD Chances are damn slim though. You probably won't be satisfied with the KU series, it has significantly worse HDR performance and that's what's important for games such as Horizon Zero Dawn.QUOTE(+Mie1+ @ Aug 11 2017, 05:25 PM) I have a question for KS7000 owners. As far as I remember mine only can access DLNA or Homegroup folders, there is no place for you to add SMB login. Can the KS7000 tvs access a NAS through a SMB login and then browse any shared folders like from a PC and play videos and image files? My old Samsung 48" I have now just could not do that. I have tried DNLA but don't like it as I have to create separate DNLA folders for the tv to access. Subtitles also does not work over DNLA. And Samsung TV are abit dumb in outputing subtitles, if the sub file is on a separate file it will not read it. You have to mux the sub in the video container (quite easy to do on the pc) |

There should be a reload Netflix app in app (under setting)So tried plug an external SSD, since then no more such problems Just curios is it watching Netflix causing the tv's memory low ? Thanks And yes I notice after some amount of video watching, suddenly Netflix will just start buffering more often or stuck at buffering. |
