Went shopping at low yat plaza today. Notice there are banners promoting YES service with

9 sen = 3mb
or
9 sen = 1min
or
9 sen = 1 sms

Go figure it out whether it value for money.

If based on that rate:

3GB would be RM90.

30GB would be RM900.

I do hope this rumour isn't true. But who knows, it might be. sweat.gif

QUOTE(HeartMePlz @ Nov 18 2010, 09:53 PM)
1mb=0.03cents

so if u use 10GB per month, they will charge u for 0.021 cents for 1mb

so 1gb=1024mb
    10g=10240mb
10gb=Rm 215.04

For Every 4GB and Above, u will get Rm9 Rebate for Each GB

so u will get Rm90 rebate on ur next month..

Anyway Stay Tuned for Tmr smile.gif

Based on your calculation it looks interesting. Let's compare with Digi RM158 16GB Quota.

16GB x 0.021/1MB = RM336

Then Rebate RM9 for each 1GB, so

16GB * RM9/MB = RM144

So total payment for 16GB usage for Yes would be RM336 - RM144 = RM192

YES 16GB = RM192
Digi 16GB = RM158

If YES has 3-5 times the speed and consistent, then I would go for YES~

Note all rate are based on HeartMePlz. I do hope there are rebates and reduces in rate when we use more. And my calculation is based on RM0.021 after 4GB usage. Who knows later they have much lower rates when we reached another level. Then the whole 16GB calculation would be much lesser.

Can't wait to check it out tomorrow.

Anyone mind to calculate the monthly price I have to pay for 16GB?

The rates and rebates are not clear without some examples.

Thank you~

If for personal home use, is GO 4G Dongle sufficient or ZOOM 4G Router?

Thinking of better reception or speed. But the router not available atm?

Wait for official launch.

Based on ur calculation it would be roughly rm200 monthly. Not bad if the speed is 3-5 times faster than 3G and consistent.

Currently using Digi RM158 16GB quota with average 128kbps speed and frequent disconnections. So RM200 is not that expensive to me. Need a proper Internet.

Do hope these pay per use system will keep most of the hardcore at bay. 100GB a month?

Well, I tried to register online. While going through the personal details and then being asked of Credit cards and pin.

Then before clicking procees, we have to click , read the terms and conditions. Somehow I feel bad and doesn't really trust this business model from YES. A lot of people never bother to read all these terms and conditions then come yelling at customer services just to be quoted with the clauses.

Read them yourself especially about the maintaining the MUR MINIMUM USAGE REQUIREMENT. Read more.

I bought the device dongle and now i think i just quit YES before I even manage to create an account.

Most of their informations are HIDDEN and unable to access online. Most of the links linked back to their MAIN PAGE instead of the page we wanted to see. How can a company openly promote and written in papers about no commitment fees and so on yet placed lots of hidden stuffs inside. THE MOST SIMPLE PLAN OF THEM ALL!~ LOL.

Wait till u discover more about their plan and payments.

Also try ask them about the extra money u reload, will they get forfeited by the end of the month if you can't finish them.

Getting SAD answers from the Customer Services.

I bought the dongle, and now quit before i register after finding more and more secrets about YES.

Ok, correct me if i am wrong.

You have to install Yes Life software which is something like messenger or skype in order to make phone call and sms.

So you grab YES and TERMINATE your mobile phone account (maxis/digi/celcom/umobile) and THROW AWAY YOUR HANDPHONE.

Now each time you need to call someobody or sms somebody, you have to run to your computer/laptop to do so. SO the next time you want to go outside, please remember to bring along your laptop for shopping. Else you won't be able to receive call or sms. Sound cool right? YES Culture.

ELSE you need to buy YTL YES Phone. Just one model, and you go check it out yourself.

ELSE IF you don't want to do so. You can have your YES at home or laptop. Then you still subscribe maxis/digi/celcom on your phone etc my beloved iPhone.

HEY WAIT. So what is the point having VOICE and SMS in YES again? My phone is with me 24/7. So i can have 9sen per min or sms?

My current Maxis Extra10 cost me 8sen/min and 1sen/sms!

Again people should know that in order for their smartphones to use this service, they need to buy their wifi device, which is as big as your iPhone and battery SAID TO BE 5 hours span.

Good luck in bringing such big device around and let's see which device runs out of battery first. Oh, you still need your maxis/digi/celcom line in your smartphone because there YES is simless which only provide you wifi and softwares like skype. You cannot use YES to replace your mobile services IN your phone for calling or sms at all. You need the YES Life software to be installed in your LAPTOP/PC to make call and sms.

Is this correct based on what I read in the internet? It just sound NOT RIGHT. LoL.

err..billing? it's like pre-paid...you pay according to how much you use ...i paid rm99 for the usb modem..and another rm30 for the top-up...that's it
so, you must control things that you download just not to exceed the budget you intend to pay..
*
Are you certain it is really prepaid? Based on the terms and conditions before we register, they will charge us certain daily interest if we didn't pay the bill. How can we ended up having debt if it is prepaid?

A lot of their advertised statements an concept differs from what we found later.

Furthermore people said there is no way for us to check our current usage. I am worried at the end of the month the bills come high.

I would suggest people to install their own data monitor softwares in case you are overcharged. I could even used up to 3GB monthly on my iPhone, so it is dangerous if u can't check your usage.

One YouTube run could get you about 50MB to 100MB data usage. That is RM3 per video. LOL.

I really think you should at least call and ask them. Just make a call.

Else later suddenly you being charged RM30x3 months before your account terminated.

Since you don't know, they will keep charging you RM90 with interest till someday you notice you owe them a big sum of money. Btw you did register along your ic number and so on right?

They don't even advertise and state any speed. So means we cannot complain or file a complaint if we receive bad speed right? Later SKMM ask what is the speed you registered? Sneaky.

According to the salesperson the price RM0.21 after 4GB is after rebate.

She said if I use 10GB then it will be RM0.03 x 10 000MB = RM300.

Then the rebates next month is 30% for each GB = RM90.

Their advertised RM0.021 per MB is after included 30% rebate.

RM0.03 - 30% = RM0.021

Previously I thought I can have RM0.021/MB rate then plus 30% rebate.

So whatever your usage, just times the rate at the pricelist there /MB. That is the price per MB AFTER rebate.

Unless the salesperson lied to me, this is what she explained at Lot10. Some of the salesperson doesn't even know all the details and asked me to surf their site. But the site is down even at Lot10 launch site.

bro....10GB=10240mb

so
before rebates
RM0.09 x  10240MB=921.60

after rebates 10GB usage
RM0.03 x 10240MB=Rm 307.20
*
LOL, thank you for the GB>MB conversion. I merely wish to simplified the calculations with rounded up value and lesser confusions. Ok let's do your way biggrin.gif

Please revised 1GB = 1024MB boys and girls.

Btw the YES rate is RM0.09 per MB?

Isn't it
RM0.09 per 3MB
RM0.03 per 1MB
