Hi guys, we are very much active and alive. Formerly known as KL Jedi and Fightsaber, we are now known as Force Arts Stunt Team (FAST). Not content with just swinging our lightsabers around, we are incorporating stunts, martial arts, and theatrical elements into our performances. We recently did a successful performance in Legoland for their Star Wars Miniland launch.

We are currently doing recruitment for new members. No payments needed. We only want passion and commitment. Check us out for more info and don't be say to ask any questions.

Follow and like our FB page here

Our website is still WIP at www.fast.com.my

Great, rclxms.gif first response member, I was afraid everyone will laugh at me and say I am crazy rclxub.gif

Welcome my fellow jedi brother. So do you have a lightsaber? If you do have, mind telling which one? I am going to update at the first post list of members and their lightsaber (if you have one)

You guys actually smack each other with those? shocking.gif And they won't break? Or is this like a 'kata' thinggy?
*
This will start out more with forms first or kata. Once we are familiar with the moves, we can move on to light choreograph dueling. Maybe once everyone gains more experience and have done the necessary modification to their lightsaber, we can move on to full contact dueling.

The lightsaber it stock form are ok for light dueling/light hitting. Anymore and the led inside will blow. The blade itself is actually surprisingly durable.

But modified sabers are extremely durable and as hard as a boken.

ah nice spinning tutorial.

got no light saber, got katana kayu only tongue.gif
*
It's a start bro. I also practice with my boken sometimes if I am not familiar with certain spin moves (don't wanna drop and ding my lightsaber). If you want to get a lightsaber, I can point you to the right direction.

can members outside of KL join? maybe can contribute a little... eventhough not from planet KL smile.gif
*
Sure bro, despite the name, everyone is open to join. I just felt KL Jedi sounds better than MY Jedi. biggrin.gif

Where are you from? Which saber do you have? Be sure to join the facebook group.

i have Replica FX darth vader saber unfortunately the rubber grip on the hilt have changed sticky. how to repair it?  cry.gif

thanks
*
I think your best bet is to just change the rubber grip with replacement rubber grip. It will not be an exact replacement but will be close enough.

The rubber are actually rubber strip commonly found on windows or cupboards.

Do join the facebook group bro.

This is cool... would love to join, i've got a Master replica FX Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, Anakin and Darth Maul double blade.

But dont think the blades will last for duel. Last i saw, at the shop someone duel it, and one of it broke at the connection to the hilt.

But i know there are blades built for duel but any idea if we can bring that in?

Please add me in your list smile.gif

Nice collection there bro, as for dueling, these blades are ok for light dueling, as in touching only, not actual hard contact. If it was never meant to be duel, there wouldn't be the clashing sound function wouldn't it?

As for full contact dueling blades, we don't actually need to buy blades made for that. Just mod your current one. The custom saber store offers conversion kit so you can DIY yourself.

play/ duel with wooden katana... yes...

play/ duel with light saber... big no no although it is durable... sakit siao if broken during duel.
*
Like I mentioned above, these lightsaber in stock form can withstand light dueling but for full contact dueling, I do recommend that everyone to do a luxeon conversion.

oh nice a light saber duelling club eh? i have a MR Darth Vader on display at home. I won't use it to duel though, haha. my MR is precious to me...

I recently got to know somebody in sg that actually crafts sabers. let me know if you guys want the link.

on another note, anybody interested in buying stunt sabers together from sabersmiths? maybe we can pool together and get some made? or bring in the soundboards and machine our own? haha.
*
Do post the link bro, might help us with Luxeon conversion so our sabers can be duel worthy.

As for stunt sabers, I think for another day la. Quite costly to actually make one.

i haven't compared prices with western sabersmiths but i think his rates are not that cheap =)

i was quoted about +- RM650 for a sound carded pvc hilt saber... tbh i am not too sure if that's expensive or not really...

here's the link guys:
website - http://kitsabers.blogspot.com/
fb - http://www.facebook.com/pages/Geylang-East...0014872?v=info/

Thanks for the link. His price is actually ok la, might be slightly pricey for a PVC hilt. If metal, I would say it's a steal. His workmanship does look impressive though.

E-mail him about buying certain parts so we could attempt the conversion ourselves instead. Awaiting his reply.

Great news. He has replied and has agreed to sell me parts so we could attempt the conversion ourselves. He will be mailing me details of pricing and shipping in the next few days.

Anyone else here interested in a luxeon conversion so we can duel with our blades? We can do a group buy and save on costs.

For the conversion part, lots of tutorials online and quite straightforward for the most part, as long as you know how to use a screwdriver, a drill, and a soldering iron.

Ok guys, we basically have enough members to have our very first TT. Few things we can do, just meet up for ice breaking session and talk star wars and lightsaber dueling. If possible we can also find a big space (nearby park or something) for a short practice session.

So what do you think guys?

I am offically announcing the merger with Fightsaber. Since there is already a more established lightsaber dueling group here, no point having two competing groups. Better if we pool our manpower and resources together.

The KL jedi performance looks crappy...compared to this one chinese wushu + light saber...

*
I love it when someone hide behind a pc screen and talk trash about something they can't even do themselves. Show us you can do better.

As technically impressive as those wushu fighters are, it is just wushu guys training with lightsaber. The style is still wushu.

Lightsaber dueling is nothing like wushu, so your comparison is one big failed.
