Just went to celebrity fitness today to get some info
I wonder is it really necessary to get a member there in order to have better result?

I'm staying condo with gym equipped with few basic workout equipment so I was thinking can it be done without guidance?

Or any advise can be get from you guys?
Thanks wink.gif

You don't have to join a gym to lose weight and gain muscle, you can do it at home with just a pair of dumbbells (provided you know how to do it). And since you already have a condo with a gym, why not just start there? Sure the machines and all are nice to use, but they are NOT a necessity. Guidance on the other hand, can be gained from reading articles on the internet.

Just my two cents.

Do you have workout schedule?
I was thinking how to come up with a effective schedule instead of doing workout randomly

Yes you can. Only you have to find craziest strongest lifting partner (not the weak ass one wearing the tight beater and lookin in the mirror) to help you on force reps

Based on my own experience...some background..

Starting in Jan...i set a goal to lose weight. I started to use my condo gym to do cardio. There were some basic, bike, eleptical and treadmill. After each cardio session...i will do some weights. After 4 months, i lose 6 kg...pretty happy with it. My friend convince me to join fitness first and to get rid of her pestering me, i agree to join...only for three months....But something happen when i join...there were a lot more weights and machine for me to start building muscle mass. There were people there..where you can observe to see how they do it too....kinda of copying the movement.

So to cut the story short....personally..for losing weight...you don't have to join the gym...just do cardio in your condo gym or even go out and run....and of course, control your diet. But if you want to build muscle, I personally feel that joining a gym will help a lot.

Ghetto / Old school gym will do, whatever fitness center is just not necessary unless u would like to pay premium price for better looking equipment which does the same thing as those equipment which can be found in ghetto gym.

I personally thinks that you cant really learn much from internet, after all many people have this perception where "everything from the internet is true" which is actually not entirely true. I would learn and take advice from someone had experience such as Terry Gallyot and Chirstopher aka Darklight79. It would save a lot of time trying all the advices from the internet. Getting advices from experienced bodybuilder would certainly helped in achieving your goal if you are serious about it.

Of course you could try out at condo's gym first but often condo's gym equipment are not complete and most of the time broke down without any repair done. My friends who worked out in the condo's gym gave up and finally joined me at my gym smile.gif

If you are from Wangsa Maju and a student, I would recommend you to join Ultimate Gym (google for the address) because the fees is really really affordable for students!

I truly believe that working out can be done at anywhere and anytime depending on your creativity. I started working out when I sign up as a gym member. From there, I observe how the other pros are doing and the method used by them to yield the best results. Once my gym membership expired, instead of renewing my membership, I chose to use those money to buy myself an electric bicycle, a set of dumbell and a multipurpose benchpress for home usage purposes. It works wonder and I'm slowly adding more stuff to my own mini gym. Therefore, I believe you can work out at home if you want to.

The gym's monthly fees is way cheaper than it's per entry, it's per entry is RM10~

The reason for the high per entry is because it has to be fair for the gym members, if the per entry fees is cheap, then everyone starts coming and members will be working in congested place. Therefore joining members there is pretty good especially you are a student!

put it this way,

1. I didn't open a thread specially to promote any gym in any form, I am just recommending good gym at wangsa maju area for serious bodybuilding! Besides, I just posted a single line without any address, contact, fees etc. Look at all the advertisement in newspaper, forum, pamphlets etc. Point out any 3 similarity of my sentence with the advertisement you found!

2. I did pointed out that it is not allow to advertise here especially creating a new thread, even though your thread title was changed, the content of the first post are not changed and of course the reason I posted that is because previously there was a thread deleted which has the same content as yours.

3. Moderator did not take any action at that thread, therefore why should I be refrained from posting about my gym preference and if moderator were to delete my post or give me warning, that would be double standard!

4. If my post were to be wrong, then any member recommending the supplements that they are taking are wrong too!!

5. If all the fitness center could have a thread of their own, I dont see a problem with me recommending newbie that would like to take bodybuilding seriously to join an affordable gym and train properly within just a single post.

6. Seriously, please find me a gym with complete equipment and monthly fees cheaper or as cheap as Ultimate Gym in wangsa maju for students like me, I would like to know!!

7. Here I would like to thank Darklight79 for recommending me to join Ultimate Gym and also of course Terry with the affordable gym fees and not to forget all the valuable advices which I benefited from!!! All my friends are happily training with me there wink.gif

8. No offense bro, why are you so obsessed with what I posted months back? My instinct tells me that you are somewhat related to that gym!

Anyway, just click the report button at the bottom of the post which you think resembles any form of advertising. Let the moderator decides it! Peace~ icon_rolleyes.gif

Lets stick back to the topic,

I am not any pro, just a regular bodybuilder, in fact I just started 6 months ago, unlike some member here which started a few years already. I do take bodybuilding seriously to build muscle and loose my weight because I started very fat. It is not necessary to join expensive gym, starting out with cheap one will do to learn the fundamental things.

Put myself in a newbie shoes because when I started, I know NOTHING about bodybuilding but thanks to many people who taught me and I learn a lot. So when others can share their experience and knowledge with me, why cant I share mine with them? We are here to encourage these beginner and not disparage them. After all humanity = look up and hope they do not give up easily because it takes a lot of determination, hardwork, concentration to achieve that smile.gif One thing for sure is, we will be happy once we see our hardwork paid off in the mirror biggrin.gif

Agreed....for me..after joining a gym, the result really accelerated...Like some here mention, the reason is:

1. You can observe what others are doing and learn by observing

2. You make friends and they too can share some tips. I got someone who pointed to me that i was doing squat wrongly and thanks to him, i didn't end up with some serious injury

3. You do get motivated....when you see someone who is just started out and are struggling....and you actually feel proud that you have been there before and no way you want to go back there...And when you see the buff guys...you are inspired to continue on cause one day you will look like them. So its both pain and pleasure formed of motivation drive

tq 4 the long explanation chichaman. it doesnt need that long. Im newbie remember. i just like to learn. im kinda person with like-to-ask character. Just 1 things i would like to correct here. Pls dont simply misjudged me based on ur instinct.

1. i open the thread just to share info like every body. (next time i dont want simply share info.. ppl misjudged)
2. im not obsessed. i juz remember u & like to learn from u senior. notworthy.gif I'm not shame..
3. ur 3rd instinct was i'm related with the gym. of coz i'm related.. since i'm from wgsamaju oso.. even terry's gym, CelebFitness & other gym here are my training place. i think its not an offence..

tq again for the explanation. Back to bb discussion. flex.gif
