I've seen enough iPhone review to last me till the iPhone 4GS/5G release

Mine is not for testing. Was given to me for personal use Same firmware PR1.0 but I got some other secret apps which I cannot disclose.

Proto phones have to give back and can't talk at all in public. This one I can keep and also that's why I can talk so much about it here. Otherwise the Nokia Police will invite me for coffee.

Just a curious question,
You studied & working in Germany?

Sometimes different region contain slightly different functions.
For example N900's HK's firmware released with disabled fm transmitter function.

It's a hard work at R&D department you know.
This kind of extra things always motivates employee.

Plus a number of company do the same thing by giving away their own products for employee.It's rewarding & at the same time gets valuable feedbacks.

Yeah, it is challenging but rewarding feeling when you see your product in the market and having people queueing up for it

Although I'm not part of the N8 team but they did one hell of a job despite the delays.

I'm looking forward to E7 (I freaking love the screen) and our next Meego device!

We do a lot of testing and we criticize each other like crazy. But in the end it's always for the end user and that is the most important.

I understand sometimes there are errors and bugs but we try hard to make sure we deliver the best ever that we can given the time that was given to us by management. We engineers always strive to deliver perfect products but most of the time reality strikes and we just have to bring it out because some big guy upstairs says, "Ship it".

I'm proud at least that since I'm in the mechanical part, I do my best to ensure Nokia is 2nd to none in mech. reliability.

Look forward for great products in the future!

P.S.: Check out X3-02 and C3-01 Touch and Type for your parents or lesser rich friends. Those have my involvement.

Naturally as a N900 user I'm looking forward the MeeGo device too.
The beta version of the OS scheduled to be out sometime today.

Yep. I have the PR1.3 on my N900 already. I will try dual-booting soon too to give feedback to the Meego community.

Also, I'm testing a few exciting services on the platform and I'm sure 1H2011 will be an exciting time for Meego fans.

Hijacking N8's thread to N900's thread
So far I've tested 25th October(latest) build.Still buggy but overall quite ok.
About the dual boot,the N900 adaptation leader demoed his version of dual boot yesterday.As I suspected it's not as easy at dualbooting Maemo/Android.
The basic idea is this;MeeGo image/kernel loaded into microSD;if the microSD is inside the device it'll load MeeGo otherwise it'll load Maemo.

Hopefully the adaptation team will make a proper dual boot instead of this mess.Already some from adaptation team complaining about broken back cover
