after looking at your photos and explanation, i think i know what you trying to say on the "issue"... let me try to reproduce it and do some comparison and some reading.. hopefully got an explanation for it  smile.gif

he mean the edge of those light donot have darker colour and the edge are way too sharp like Painted colour? hmm.gif hmm.gif hmm.gif

QUOTE(keenjeen @ Oct 28 2010, 03:00 PM)
not on the over exposed area not having darker colour as that part cannot be saved since it's already blown highlight... it's more on the edges.. seems sharp separation between the blown and dark area rather than gradual from light to dark...
*
as my understanding..both you talking the same thing..right? wrong?

ok...there is something on my mind now.

remember if using dslr, when there is let say 6 aperture blades. use 30 second (easier to see the differences), you can see the artificial light is sharp edge (if i not remember wrongly).
so when come to n8, the blade is actually in round shape. so when you take the photo, it make the artificial light look round, sharp edge?

can someone clarify this? hmm.gif

ur question have to go deep inside how the graphic processing part already I believe.. have to see how they compress the file to JPEG maybe..
yah. memang pro..  nod.gif  nod.gif  notworthy.gif  notworthy.gif

hmm..that 1 i have no idea..
QUOTE(BuFung @ Oct 28 2010, 03:53 PM)
like up n down or left to right??

if only 2 blade..  definitely have come downside compare to multi-blade in fast photographing..  light entering sensor in not so balance way...
*
upper right.
not sure whether this is the reason which made the edge look like that.. but when look at nature light exposure, it won't be like artificial light..suddenly a plain white dot at there..
