When it comes to renovation almost everyone of us would goes to Ikea for a look.

At the 1st sight really like the design & looks of the Ikea's High Gloss "Abstrakt" kitchen
Just incase anyone have been there I really like the Solid Surface Table on the RED kitchen & as for the cabinet doors I'm going for GREY.
Made a appointment to qoute & design my kitchen & it's RM11k++!!!
That exclude delivery & installation. Also the worktop is just laminated ones only...

Pls see mentioned materails below:
http://www.ikea.com.my/en/catalog/detail.a...2Clegfrontpanel
http://www.ikea.com.my/en/catalog/detail.a...Ccabinets%2Ctop

I've did a research & found "Formica" have almost the same thing:
Cabinet: http://www.formica.com.sg/product-informat...k-gloss-compact
Worktop: http://www.formica.com.sg/solid-surfacing

Cabinets:
Expensive or that materail (High Gloss Acrylic Plastic) is at that price range???
I've read in LYN that some uses Glass instead of Plastic which is better.
If it's true then what about the colour effect? High Gloss???
Does outside contractor have the same materails or better that could give the same effect at a much lower price?

Worktops:
Is there a contractor that uses the shown "Formica" parts that I could engage or should I buy the doors from Ikea & ask a contractor to build the rest.
As for the worktop, would the "Formica's Solid Surfacing" give the same effect as a real solid surface? Lines shows at edge & conners?
The website says it could be heated & bend. Hope that it's unlike the normal laminated ones that are cut & join.

Don't have to be Formica's parts. As long as the effect is the same it's good enough for me already.
Hardest part is the worktop. Never seen "Solid Surface look alike" worktop. Especially on the edge, conners & joins, which don't have a shown line...
Anyone contractor have these stuffs pls PM me & if any forumer that got pix of mentioned parts pls post up.
I really apperciate every help offered. Thanking all in advance...

rclxub.gif Am I being confuised? Formica Solid Surfacing is not lamited. It's just a brand for Solid Surface that have the same price range...
Pls advice...

you need to provide the dimensions but a kitchen specialist can provide a kitchen similar to ikea easily.

I've called a contractor & he says that he can do the table top.

Bottom is normal wood & top is layered with a thinner Solid Surface...
This would save cost alot.

Still not sure about the cabinet as I was shown thin pieces of paper which is layered in between the wood & the outter plastic/glass. This is hold up by an aluminium frame.

Actually, i not really understand what you post writen, is too complecated to read. High gross finish cabinet can be so many diff material, the cheapest 1 u can use high gross laminate, or acrylic, or 3G glass, or even PU. which come with diff price. don just go for IKEA, take some time to walk around, u may find something suit u and reasonable price.
