Hey guys, wht is the best upgrade from HD4870(1gb)? price around maybe 500..no more than 550. Wanted the 6870..but over the budget T.T Pls recommend me...i don mind NVIDIA also.

They should standardise the cooler sockets/mounting on GPU the same way they did on mobos so that aftermarket coolers could fit on just any card....same way as CPU coolers nowadays

AMD should lead the way since they are more towards backward compatibility and value for consumers

slower by 10%(maybe) but cheaper to produce by a wide margin as compared to the monster 580. this is why it is worth to produce. if u recall pass history, AMD/ATI doesnt have the fastest card to compete with nvidia, but a better value card overall.

the pricing for 6970 and 6950 damn ridiculous, it make my 6870 outdated so fast just overnight ................    

double check with the price, yes it is true and it 6950 might cost around RM1100++ when launched here. so it wont cannibalize 68xx series after all , if it cost rm900++ then nobody will buy 68xx already.

my hd6870 keep increase to >75'C and BSOD when playing sc2.
mobo temp also almost hit >60'c

Probably the 6970 is a more expensive version of 6950 so AMD could rake in more $$$, but of course they underestimate the consumers for being smart enough to figure out this unlockability of the 6950 to the 6970.

Btw any 5850 user's here feel poised to buy 69xx?
I am one and still felt that the 5850 (OC'ed to 5870's performance) is a good card until today....dunno why, I got the cash but don't feel temped to buy the 6950 even when I visit LY Plaza quite often...
the 5850 still gets high fps on the current games. Getting above 50fps+ on FO:NV on High settings for e.g. (and commendable fps with Ultra settings)

just get my 2nd piece of sapphire of hd 5850 and find out no user manual but a quick installation guide and no sticker ... hmmm .... my 1st piece got all the thing but dun hav quick installation guide ... how come ah ....
