I read the details in AMD's website. Its almost the same as previous ATI Stream

to do physics calculation like Nvidia PhysX, video decoding/encoding like Nvidia CUDA.

Yeah, perhaps AMD use APP for it. So many names. Perhaps Stream not working well so rename it?

The demos using APP or Eyespeed are Flash Player 10.1 and Cyberlink Power Director. Still not many.

Hope to see it supported for Adobe Premiere just like Nvidia has. Hope that AMD improve the output quality for video decoding. Quality problem is the main issue for Stream.

As for gaming I was really enjoying my previous Radeon 5850. However, sold it because it's not supporting for Adobe MPE.

At the moment we discuss this, AMD website still hasn't added RADEON 6000 series. AMD has serious party tonite smile.gif

Added on October 23, 2010, 1:09 amI refreshed the site and 6000 series appears! GOD!!! I really did a double check!

You are right

Adobe chooses CUDA because AMD drivers was really buggy.

I think the AMD's chip is really good with Radeon 5000 and 6000 series. Maya has better performance with Radeons/FireGL. The software and driver must work very closely.

first driver release after a product launch always buggy. That's why always a new patch or fix release come out soon after a launch.

Wuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuhhhh make sure your PSU supply enough power to you graphic card.

650watt true should be ok.

The forumer didn't state about his power supply's output power. Sometimes cable/connector or PSU faulty can be the culprit. Who knows.

what is ur opinion on a reference cooler on hd6870 and waiting for a custom cooler hd6870 in the future? worth the wait? bring much difference in performance?
*
If I must wait for custom cooler then it much be factory overclocked as well. Then talk about performance. Custom cooler means cooler, quieter operation and long life.

Based on online review, reference HD6870 cooler works sufficiently and very quiet even at load. HD6850 reference cooler is louder.
