Just bought myself ASUS EAH 6870 yesterday.

Now only OC until 970/1125 with core voltage bump to 1.235v, and it run very hot in furmark test, max out 99'C.

I think they very confident with the chip heat withstand capability, because even at that temp the fan only spin no more than 50%.

Anyway i found the fps in F1 2010 is worst than using 4850...i guess this is the effect of DX 9 --> DX 11? Not really happy with that.

But seems like this card game support still very weak, F1 2010 and NFS Hot pursuit can't full load my GPU, F1 2010 80+% GPU + 70% CPU, while NFS only <60% GPU and 70% CPU...NFS shuttering quite serious, i really no idea about that, previous 4850 run very smooth.

Anyway my rig is as below.

OS: Win 7
Intel QX6700 3.3Ghz
Giga EP35-DS3.
Value RAM DDR2 800 2GB.
ASUS EAH 6870 with CCC 10.12.

Is it my mainboard or proc limit my GC performance? but i don think so, becos my QX6700 should be more than enough. RAM not enuf? but everytime i enter game i will shut all others program and at least 1.5GB is available. Hope you all can give me suggestion.

Somehow now i felt that i shouldn't buy this card so earlier, should wait until driver mature enuf.

Yes, yesterday used driver sweeper to clean and fresh install driver.

About ram, i previously use 4850 (onboard 512MB) @ 1280x1024 @ highest setting it run smoothly, now 6870 (IGB GDDR5) @ 1920x1080 shuttering, suppose system RAM is not the cause.

I'm using Win 7, i think i no need those DX 9.0c.

No it won't help and i won't do so. Meaningless by running non native resolution on LCD, and this card should do game in this resolution well.

Wanna ask why those 6870/6850 card with Hynix GDDR5 which rated 1250Mhz (5000Mhz effective clock) @ 1.5v in spec sheet can't even pass 1150Mhz without Vmod? Due to heat issue?

Been read alot of reviews on those card, reference design almost all are using those memory, even Vmod done in VR-zone only manage to get <1200Mhz.

Aiya, no mah...back in last time GDDR3 era, when the chip itself is rated let say 2.0ns, at least stock it will run @ 500Mhz (if OC can exceed that)...but for now the ATI 6870, all the reviewer, even spec sheet stated the GDDR5 can run 1250Mhz @ 1.5V. But somehow the ATI board powr supply to those memory chip adi got 1.6V, then why it need to underclock, and we can't bring back to rated clock with 1.6 stock voltage.

I curious about whether due to heat issue or what only.

Hi, any 6870 user notice that the desktop idle GPU clock is raised from 100Mhz to 300Mhz in 11.1 driver? now my idle clock is 300/300, last time 10.12 is 100/300...

3 days ago only know 11.1 out and went to download and install. Now 11.2 out pula, have do the process again.
