As great as 6000 series, I still gonna stick to my 5870CF. But would welcome drastic price drop for 5000 series, especially 5770 or 5850 for my 2nd rig

QUOTE(angah_as @ Nov 1 2010, 02:09 PM) 1 time promo? until when?QUOTE(Demonic Wrath @ Nov 1 2010, 02:14 PM) If already got HD5870, then no need to change (not even an upgrade)... Performance about the same, even for Tessellation.. lol, GTX580.I think HD6970 performs better than GTX480 by 10%, consuming less power, and then GTX580 performs better than HD6970 by 10%, consuming a lot more power, as always. |

QUOTE(Piros @ Nov 1 2010, 04:39 PM) HD5870 still has the lead, but I think HD6870 is a wise choice because it is on par with HD5850. It also doesn't cost that much plus you get new technology. I feel 5000 series still can improve by newer drivers, just hope that AMD dun forget bout us 5000s users A HD5770 can play most of the games smoothly (Not ultra setting), so a HD6870 will fill the needs to push everything to ultra. Do keep in mind upcoming drivers will also improve the overall performance of the 6xxx series. Just my 2 cents |

QUOTE(Piros @ Nov 3 2010, 01:14 PM) Don't expect too much. hopefully it happened when 6770 is released, no harm to keep dreaming right I dun think the HD5770 price will drop that much as there was not a product that AMD release to replace the HD57xx series. In fact that are planning to keep it for the time being. |

QUOTE(8tvt @ Nov 3 2010, 01:27 PM) i won't thing it will replace 5770.. more or less the lower-end such as 56XX and 55XX/54XX.. 6770 might not be replacing 5770, but if it follow the path of 5670 (no need 6-pin) and perform close to 5750, then I think it is a good option. 6850/6870 is actually the successors of 5750/5770.. But now still way too early to speculate bout it... QUOTE(Piros @ Nov 3 2010, 01:34 PM) I confirm skipping 6000s for my main rig, 5870CF still very much alive and kicking, no point changing. Depend on future games, if I still can Max setting on my favourite games, I might even skip 7000s... |

QUOTE(don^don @ Nov 4 2010, 12:29 AM) I use MSI afterburner. Create a profile and set it to auto. Eg: when the temp is 40c, fan speed is 20%, 50c - 30%, 60c-40%, 70c -50%, 80c-60%.Actually I am quite curious about how others set their fan speed as well, like what is the max fanspeed they set etc. But this is what I think suit me the most, the top 5870 max temp after 2 hours of crysis @ Very High is 81c. Btw, the noise doesn't really bother me, I use headset. |

QUOTE(DarkSilver @ Nov 19 2010, 03:44 PM) CCC 10.11 WHQL don't have MLAA function and doesn't support Radeon HD6000-Series. Metro 2033, what setting you use?CCC 10.10e have MLAA for both Radeon HD5000 and 6000 Series. And there's no UNSTABLE at all. I am using it whole time since it's released. Yet, I don't know CCC 10.11 WHQL or CCC 10.10e which 1 have the better performance overall. I even get performance boost for DX11 titled games like Metro 2033. However, if you intend to use MLAA on CCC 10.11 WHQL, there's a trick. Registries hack. LOL. Read this thread, http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=331108&page=3 It's for CCC 10.10x MLAA hacking, but it also usable on CCC 10.9 and CCC 10.11. I checked the MLAA at CCC and play Metro 2033 for few minutes @ Very High + AAA and I can't tell if MLAA is working or not >< |

I always like to set my games graphic setting to the highest possible while maintain a playable frame rate.
crysis and warhead max up with 8xAA give me smooth gameplay, so I do not sacrifice anything. but metro 2033 with everything max (Dx11, very high, tess ON, Ad. DoF on, MSAA) is really crazy, which is why i turn off Ad. DoF, which boost frame rate drastically... |

QUOTE(sai86 @ Nov 29 2010, 05:32 PM) i do realize new at rm599 only. but 2nd hand got around at 500-550. depends on d item age. im trying to resist to go for cf. keep telling myself not worth it. dun resists, just do it but seriously, 5850CF has some real power and can last you quite long, and even longer if u willing to sacrifice some eye candy. |

Well, if pocket is tight, better don't force yourself to CF..
Besides, after few months, when u have money, mayb you can sell off your 5850 and buy 2x6850 to CF |

Not really impressed by the single card, but CF scaling is awesome.
