hmm... they dropped HDMI for the output kinda execting the HDMI to stay a while on all GC but AMD is kinda fast in excluding it...

QUOTE(wildwestgoh @ Nov 26 2010, 07:35 AM) LMAO, the heatsink definitely not appeal to some, but for those who want near silent case for HTPC, etc. Probably can mount a fan there or in close proximity Doubt many Malaysian will take this unless they have a darn good case or a darn good air-cond room |

They should standardise the cooler sockets/mounting on GPU the same way they did on mobos so that aftermarket coolers could fit on just any card....same way as CPU coolers nowadays
AMD should lead the way since they are more towards backward compatibility and value for consumers |

QUOTE(TDUEnthusiast @ Dec 2 2010, 07:11 PM) Oh my god. I just asked Zalman Tech about a custom cooler for the HD6870, and apparently the Zalman GV1000 ( Zalman VF1000, but nickel-plated & red LED fan ) is compatible with it! It's even compatible with the HD6850. I thought that is an old cooler? will it be able to cool it better?Gosh, for RM210, it's seriously worth it. <3. Guess I will be getting myself a HD6870 very soon |

QUOTE(fatalynx05 @ Dec 15 2010, 06:54 AM) ermmm...because of the chamber thing make the gc a bit noisy at some certain fan speed...coz of the fan seated at the end...and the air flow make a buzzing sound pass through the heatsink Huh? I think that has nothing to do with the chamber but more to the fan and shroud design itself bro, Vapor-x by sapphire is silent compared to stock cooling because they had their fans oriented in a different way compared to the tiny wheel-fans of stock cooling |

QUOTE(DarkSilver @ Dec 15 2010, 04:48 PM) I think we should wait for a better driver? Because they're all testing on "MODDED" Drivers only. AMD haven't have a proper driver for Radeon HD6900-series yet. No matter how good a retailer they are, taking advantage of the 1st batch is the norm where head-chopping price is sure to be expected... Market now is kinda hot so just wait till it evens out a lil with time... I also think they wanna sell the older cards out 1st by pricing the newer ones a bit higher atm and also to compare to the Nvidia 580 and 570 to sell evenly.... So just wait it out a bit... I'm estimating after CNY2011 the price will move down a bitToday, I visited C-Zone and Viewnet. They're selling Sapphire Radeon HD6970 for RM 15XX. Too expensive for it's performance(with current driver), IMO. Most shops haven't have these GPUs yet. Only a few shops have them actually. I think the price will get down soon if the performance can't be helped even with next up-coming driver. |

Well aside from speed.... the dual bios function is a nice touch.. who knows if AMD is gonna release a bios update for the 6900 series for users to flash.. and I think some open source coders out there are happy with the feature... no more $300 paperweights lol

QUOTE(dupont200 @ Dec 18 2010, 10:20 AM) my ati hd3870 crazy already, graphic crash and bsod when playing fm2011 and sc2. which card i should upgrade to? rarely play fast moving game, the next game in my mind is diablo3. pls advice... budget around 500-1k With that budget, u might wanna get the 6850 as DiabloIII doesn't require a hell lot of framerates to play smoothly.... but u might wanna up your PSU a bit from 400W... AMD recommend 500W for the 6800 series, right now the FSP sagaII 500W is at about RM165 in LYP p/s: my rig= core2dual e8200, 8ghz ddr2 800mhz, silverstone sst-st400 psu, dell u2311h lcd monitor, gigabyte ep35-ds3 mobo normally on 24/7 |

QUOTE(fat cat @ Dec 19 2010, 03:29 AM) The new 6970 has just come out and im wondering if i should buy 2 6870's now or buy a 6970 and buy another 6970 along the way? Thanks. Seems like the 6970 is basically a better version of 2 6870's in CF. Think of it this way... what setup could u possibly use to utilise a 6970cf? a single 6870 is able to handle eyefinity 3x already, so unless ur gonna go 30" eyefinity x6, I'd get only one 6970 |
