There is a new Samsung Kies update. Version 1.5.3.10093.82.
Updated successfully. Everything works well. It can detect my SGS and I can backup calender, contact etc with my PC.
I tried the update firmware button but JG4 is still listed as the latest. No froyo yet.

For those who have tried Doc's ROM JPA 7.5 and JPO 7.5, which one would you recommend?
Thanks

QUOTE(areankim @ Nov 5 2010, 09:59 PM) i think i shud go ahead... cos froyo probably gonna chance my phone to 3e recovery, am i correct? You mean flashing to Froyo firmware will cause us to lose the 3 buttons recovery mode? Doc's Rom JPO or JPA are froyo firmware. Won't the same happen?

QUOTE(DJFoo000 @ Nov 6 2010, 08:54 PM) i've read that prior to asking the fella. Only GPS and RFS lag highlighted so far. I'm especially attracted to the damn good performance running Quake in the video vs Desire. So i dun really care about the Quadrant or Linpak benchmark results vs the Desire Z. @ken2291, yeah no news so far about 2.2 update fixing the issues mentioned. The shopkeeper fella recommended the original Desire, saying 'it's 2.2 wor, SGS only 2.1'. That time I confirm he know bollocks about phones. Haha, it's so obvious he's trying to clear stock for Desire. After all Desire got no front camera, which means that no video call

QUOTE(angel-girl @ Nov 8 2010, 06:19 PM) i flashed twice, wiped /factory reset twice, now works fine! Thanks, I have been doing a lot of research...will flash to Froyo soon (need to read more to gain confidence...haha).....contemplating whether to use Doc's ROM JPO 7.6 or wait for the Asian official version via Kies (rumoured this week or next week, right?) Already downloaded all the files for Doc Rom's JPO.......waiting for some courageous moment to flash... Quite fed up with Eclair...especially websurfing always got stuck when Flash is required... Maybe Doc will cook the Asian ROM when release and that will be the best....

QUOTE(Crossover @ Nov 8 2010, 07:20 PM) Added on November 8, 2010, 7:25 pmExperience to share: For using Doc's ROM, kindly pls do the factory reset, wipe cache and also dalvik wipe -- if u are doing it from ClockWordMod prior to flashed the ROM. This will surely reduced the problem like unable to receive, answered, even web browser problem. 1) For factory reset, should I use the Settings/ Privacy/ Factory Data reset or use the 3 BR factory reset? 2) Wipe cache, is it the option in 3 BR? Should I do this after Factory reset or before factory reset? 3)Dalvik cache...hmm, read this somewhere before, but can't remember...how to wipe this?....okay, must google it again This post has been edited by erymanthus: Nov 8 2010, 11:33 PM
