depends on what courses you do. An engineer grad from Utar definitely has higher chances of securing a job than one with, say, a philosophy major from MelbUni. And even at professionals level, they have their own competition. Do you start with a salary of RM2k or RM4k? That's the difference

Agreed that the course plays a part.

From my experience, I would say that most ACCA new graduates are better than either Melbourne or Monash Commerce grads. I reckon that it has more to do with the syllabus and the marking system.

Yeah the fees in quite high nowadays and the AUD currency rate is pretty high though and would reached to US dollars in some point. So the main 3 country US, AUS and UK for education is not much different nowdays. But i'm wondering where do people choose for their education? Most people will for either Aus or UK (slughty expensive)? I'm not sure whether Aus is still the first choice for students as it is nearer to our country? I might just go for UK for my postgrad..not gonna stay in Australia smile.gif

Between Australia and UK, UK is the preferred choice where cost is more or less the same. UCL and LSE are better than Melbourne U for Commerce/Finance.

Having a degree and a qualification is two different thing.

If you wanna compare, then do this:

Monash, Melbourne Uni Commerce grads  vs  UTAR, Sunway, UCSI bachelor of business, accounting grads

OR

Monash, Melb UNi commerce grad with CA, (or CPA, ACCA) vs UTAR, Sunway,UCSI commerce grads with ACCA,( or CIMA, MICPA )

Then you compare.
And the result for local preference may not be the same in an international scope.
Marking is not an issue. as the distinction falls on quota,
there's quota for Pass-rate on Professional boards, there's aggregate scaling in University studies, but both are
totally different things.

Sylabus-wise is also very optional as different Uni provide courses that have different coverage of professional sylabus, hence exemption is case by case basis on each Uni.

For Accounting Firms, the choices are pretty clear, Sunway or UTAR with ACCA will have an advantage over Melb U n CA/CPA.
