### STORY ###
Welcome to Vegas. New Vegas.

It’s the kind of town where you dig your own grave prior to being shot in the head and left for dead…and that’s before things really get ugly. It’s a town of dreamers and desperados being torn apart by warring factions vying for complete control of this desert oasis. It’s a place where the right kind of person with the right kind of weaponry can really make a name for themselves, and make more than an enemy or two along the way.

As you battle your way across the heat-blasted Mojave Wasteland, the colossal Hoover Dam, and the neon drenched Vegas Strip, you’ll be introduced to a colorful cast of characters, power-hungry factions, special weapons, mutated creatures and much more. Choose sides in the upcoming war or declare “winner takes all” and crown yourself the King of New Vegas in this follow-up to the 2008 videogame of the year, Fallout 3.

Enjoy your stay.

### KEY FEATURES ###

Feel the Heat in New Vegas!
Not even nuclear fallout could slow the hustle of Sin City. Explore the vast expanses of the desert wastelands – from the small towns dotting the Mojave Wasteland to the bright lights of the New Vegas strip. See the Great Southwest as could only be imagined in Fallout.

Feuding Factions, Colorful Characters and a Host of Hostiles!
A war is brewing between rival factions with consequences that will change the lives of all the inhabitants of New Vegas. The choices you make will bring you into contact with countless characters, creatures, allies, and foes, and determine the final explosive outcome of this epic power struggle.

New Systems!
Enjoy new additions to Fallout: New Vegas such as a Companion Wheel that streamlines directing your companions, a Reputation System that tracks the consequences of your actions, and the aptly titled Hardcore Mode to separate the meek from the mighty. Special melee combat moves have been added to bring new meaning to the phrase “up close and personal”. Use V.A.T.S. to pause time in combat, target specific enemy body parts and queue up attacks, or get right to the action using the finely-tuned real-time combat mechanics.

An Arsenal of Shiny New Guns!
With double the amount of weapons found in Fallout 3, you’ll have more than enough new and exciting ways to deal with the threats of the wasteland and the locals. In addition, Vault-Tec engineers have devised a new weapons configuration system that lets you tinker with your toys and see the modifications you make in real time.

Let it Ride!
In a huge, open world with unlimited options you can see the sights, choose sides, or go it alone. Peacemaker or Hard Case, House Rules, or the Wild Card - it’s all in how you play the game.

So who's got it? rclxms.gif

Are you going to play HARDCORE from the start?

Did you resist getting the 'Wild Wasteland' perk?

I have the Classic Pack, same problem - code invalid. Some people say they have to update the servers.

Is it possible to use the add-ons on a current game? Lots of people are having issues with the invalid code and they're saying that it only works on a new game after using the code. That would suck.

I want the canteen since in short play yesterday was having trouble staying hydrated. Standing in front of the water pipe to drink only goes up one bar at a time.

@falconhour - it's after customizing character, special in beginning of game. you will get a full screen prompt to select hardcore. you can de-select it anytime in the game but to get the achievement (and mysterious bonus, if any) you cannot turn it off at all.

just got to the strip...about level 9. Then my friend said that he also was at the strip but was level 15...after beating my friend with a magazine tongue.gif... i realize that I am making the same mistake I made 2 years ago where I got so far into the main story I forgot the side quests...so putting it off for a while and going exploring...I want to find Danny Trejo's character....and Zach Levi's

You're very far ahead! I'm some ways back just arrived in NoVac and leveled up to 6 only. Finding it tough to make space as was used to Fallout3 with safehouse storage. There will be one at the Strip where you can store snowglobes as well but that's a little far ahead.

Finding it tough to survive with no water storage, low ammo and next to no caps. No sight of canteens yet. It's a little unrealistic as you'd think the first thing anyone would do before venturing out into the inhospitable desert is to get some kind of water container - even a plastic bottle, and filling up with clean water from Goodsprings.

Just another question, what is the different (in term of Achievement - of coz gameplay wise woud be obvious) if I select Hardcore mode and choose Easy or Very Easy difficulties? I browse thru the Achievements and it didnt mentioned or care what difficulties you're playing as long if you choose Hardcore to get the 100GS. Is that true?

tbh have not researched much about it. it should not have an impact on it. i'm not uber hardcore as juset set off with default normal level only smile.gif level difficulty should only be level of enemies - armored, shielded, more damage they dish out, less damage taken with your weapons. that sort of thing.

Hitman190 - how many hours in did it take to get to Level 21?

I'm sorta stuck on Level 8 now, tried to head to Vegas but could not get past the Deathclaws. Finding the game tough.

Will remember bout Jacobstown

I feel so nerfed compared to Boone. He uses the same gun I used before but one shot one kill. Comparatively I'm emptying a whole magazine/clip into something and barely makes a dent. It doesn't make sense.

Almost made it to The Strip. Have to come up with $2,000 caps or there's a passport workaround for 1/4 the price. Gonna go try that out.

Did all King missions, took some time but it's worth the XP and caps - only got up to around 1,400 caps. Quite lucrative jobs in Freeside. Finally in The Strip now after meeting Mr House so much to do. Still not too high of a level yet.

There is a bug where the game just freezes when it tries to load an area. Encountered it a few times, quite annoying as have to hard reset, then flash red rings boot, then ok 2nd boot. Hopefully it won't corrupt a save one time.

I'm not getting Fable3 until done with FNV. It can wait a week or two. Then it's a choice of that or AC Brotherhood though sad.gif

I liked Fable 2 combat, a little simplistic but the rich environment and story really made up for it. Can't miss Fable 3, just get it later after reading all the reviews if can't decide smile.gif

Next play through am not gonna do hardcore. Find it is annoying. Adds realism of course but unnecessary to enjoy the game.

Finally advance storyline of main quest a little bit. Not sure about my choices so far. Quite confusing. It's easy to mess up with faction quests now. The Legion reaaaaally hate me. Didn't even get to visit their camp.

Hate the loading times on The Strip even with game installed. No ability to fast travel anywhere on The Strip area. To go to Lucky 38 suite to change sidekick there are like 3 loading screens .. ugh.
