*sob* installed Catalyst 11.2, got Tesselation option, but no MLAA... may be only 58xx and 59xx has that option... i know 5650 is a lil' too weak for MLAA, just wanted to play with it...

can i disable switchable graphic so only 6550 graphic is use able, because currently after i change to discreet mode in BIOS, only Intel graphic available...

i need to determine whether my GC is faulty because after playing with NFS shift or counterstrike source for around 30mins, the screen will freeze...can't be because overheat as max. temperature is around 80°C only

how to check boot up time ?

After you change to Discreet, the only GC is ATI not Intel. Something not right here! Note that if this is first time you change to Discreet, you need to install driver from AMD.com website first. Use Catalyst 11.2.

80C for GPU is high for 30 mins of playing, but should not freeze the screen. Most freeze, crash problem can be solved using latest Catalyst driver.

cowith gun, how to rectify this problem. Suddenly. the DVD drive in my computer went missing as I was installing dvd half way. How to make it appear again ?

DVD drive missing? Meaning cannot see DVD drive in Windows Explorer?

Try check your Device Manager and check the status of the Optical Drive:

1. Click Start
2. Right click on "My computer"
3. Click Manage
4. Click Device Manager
5. See got any ! (exclamation) mark anywhere? Right click on optical drive and check for its status...

If want clean install, uninstall the ATi from add/remove program in control panel,
then reboot to safe mode, run the driver sweeper, tick ATi and clean it
then reboot to normal mode and install the driver...

Screenshot/list the installed programs ?

Open Taskmaster, end process for ccc.exe

Open Registry Editor, run regedit

MLAA (Morphological AA). Search for MLF_NA. Make the 1 into a 0
Surface Format Opimization. Scroll down, you'll see SurfaceFormatReplacements_NA. Turn the 1 into a 0
New Catalyst AI. Further down you'll see TFQ_NA. Turn the 1 into a 0.

Run Catalyst again, or right click on your desktop and click on it. Check your Gaming settings. You should now see MLAA, new Catalyst AI and SurfaceFormat Optimizaiton.

Discrete mode should only have ATi running...
With only Intel HD, people has been trying to do that

Using in battery mode ?

HAHAHHAA... u better give me step by step way to enable mine!!!

I end task the CCC.exe and MOM.exe and change the registry, then open back CCC, it appeared...

HAHAHAHAHA (laughing like a mad man).. i changed to Discreet and check again, still nothing....

Could it be I change too many MLF_NA to 0??!?!?!?!? Does not make sense...

Anyway, good to know that it is do-able...

I thought only one MLF_NA ?

that's strange, i'll try doing it again later tonight, last night after choosing discrete mode, HWmonitor couldn't pickup any temperature sensor from ATi or shown that i'm using ATi graphic card, that's why i tot i'm on intel HD so i didn't bother to try any games..

Can check if you if your driver packaging version is the same:

Seems like this time the MLAA doesn't artifact...
Still got flickering if I enable the MLAA with disable AA/AF...
But no flickering when I put those two on max

Faster way then is just straight install the driver..
