Hi,

I hope you are doing fine. May I know if who was your OBGYN at Sunway Medical Center that supported your natural birth? Currently finding a pro natural birth OBGYN at SMC for my wife.

Thank you very much!

Hi all would love to share my experience as a first time dad

Our delivery cost was around RM18k at Pantai Hospital KL. 4 days 3 nights in a single room. July 2023. C-Sec

Our O&G was Datin Dr Kamaljit and delivered our baby safely and smoothly which we are seriously thankful for.

Our story started last year when I found out my wife was pregnant, we went to SJMC at first with Dato Siti Zaliha, knowing that Dr Tang does not take appointments unless you are 24weeks pregnant(Can't remember the actualy weeks). Halfway through found out that Dr Tang does not do delivery from March 2023 onwards so we started scouting around and decided on Datin Dr Kamaljit as she was close to home.

Her clinic is at Bangsar which is great because we do not need to wait for long hours and everything was very fast and straightforward

Datin Dr Kamaljit has always been very patient in answering all of our questions, we actually wanted a natural birth and she respected our birth plan, but unfurtunately there is some complications and Datin Dr Kamaljit adviced us to opt for Csec and we glad we listned to her advice because everything went really smoothly.

We will definitely go back to Datin Dr Kamaljit for our second baby and wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to anyone including friends and family rclxm9.gif

Hello, it's my first time and very unfamiliar with hospitals in Klang Valley. Personally prefer Sunway Medical Centre because it's nearby and reputable but I have no idea which doctor should I consider. I hope I can get some advise from someone please. Thank you.

I cant share them in public, but you can check it at the website. She will give strict/motherly advice if you are not careful. Waiting time is fast if you have made reservations. I usually go on weekdays just to avoid crowds and traffic.

May I know which website that share her fees? I don't think I can see it in the official hospital website. Does she respect your decision for natural birth or more to C-section?

To those first time parents, I would highly recommend hypnobirthing if you're planning to do natural..

Me and my wife enjoyed the session and it also prepared me to be a much more supportive partner by giving us expectations on the process / journey on what it is like to be pregnant..

They showed many videos on natural birth and it isn't as daunting as what people put it to be..

Thanks. Mind to share how much is a normal check up visit? I read from other threads that they were charged more than RM400 per visit. Kinda expensive

Just go to Dr Raman at FMGC Jaya One, PJ. He does all his deliveries at Pantai Bangsar. He is a very senior gynea and fetal specialist. Well known. Was a professor at UM before. He sits on the advisory boards for Pfizer and Danone. He is truly knowledgeable. His scans are super accurate.

He will give you all the facts good and bad. He doesnt sugar coat and its not all about the money for him. Very caring doctor and truly passionate. Each visit with him is about RM350 and he will advice you to do your delivery at University Hospital if cost is a problem for the patient. he is a specialist for handling complicated pregnancies.

Hello, just want to share my wife's journey to delivery in Putrajaya Hospital.

Right before that, we did all the follow-up in KK and when asked where she wanted to deliver the baby, we picked Putrajaya Hospital. The procedure is very simple, when it reaches the last month of delivery, will need to visit both places, KK and Putrajaya for a check-up.

For Putrajaya, you will need to check up outside of the hospital but it is still within Putrajaya. That place will look like your normal KK and called Pusat Bersalin Berisiko Rendah (PBBR), then only will get referred back to the hospital Putrajaya for delivery. Just like the name, if you're a low-risk pregnancy and 2nd child, then you can deliver at PBBR, I believe the cost is more or less RM100!

For hospital rate, my wife does caesarean as per advice by the doctor there.
The room is shared by a total of 4 people per room.
Stay for 3 days.
The final bill is RM1600++, the cost for the caesarean alone is RM1200, the rest is room etc.

I asked the receptionist, and she explained that Putrajaya is first-class, which is why it cost much more.

Hope it helps!
