QUOTE(MunDsuM @ Oct 19 2010, 09:07 PM) Huh? Is that a misunderstanding? T9 right? It can be used in portrait mode... cannot use in landscape.T9 is meant to be used on keypads (portrait). Why would it be used in landscape QWERTY? This post has been edited by hsyong: Oct 19 2010, 09:14 PM |

QUOTE(MunDsuM @ Oct 19 2010, 09:17 PM) it works for in landscape mode too. but the problem with mine is that when i press lets say, 2(ABC), none of the A, B or C comes out but an E. Or when I press the 1(.,?), a W comes out. So predictive text for me in portrait is totally unusable. Sorry, it's available in landscape but not activated by default (quite rightly so, in qwerty, there's no need for T9 haha). It's kinda stranger why the NCC say "the predictive text input is especially designed for use in the landscape mode" ???? T9 is designed for keypad!Anyway, as for the T9 in portrait mode, it works just fine on my set. This post has been edited by hsyong: Oct 19 2010, 09:31 PM |

QUOTE(Agito666 @ Oct 20 2010, 02:58 PM) I think N8 is the last N series model to use Symbian.. that does not mean Nokia dropping Symbian (Symbian^4 is in the pipeline), just that Symbian will be used for other series. High end N series will be using MeeGo.This post has been edited by hsyong: Oct 20 2010, 03:07 PM |

The phone feels warm after surfing for a while (~10 minutes). Hope that's normal because of the aluminum body.

QUOTE(rahuldave @ Oct 21 2010, 05:25 PM) As you can see there is a sticker on left hand side of the phone that covers the screw, if lets say the sticker peeled off due to wear and tear, can we still claim for warranty? I took off all stickers the moment I got the phone.Any transparent sticker to protect this? |

QUOTE(EXkurogane @ Oct 21 2010, 06:45 PM) No, u got it wrong, S60 seems to be out of question. Actually, future improvements/new firmwares will be compatible with Sym^3, not necessarily the old Sym^1. That means Sym^3 is the base for future development. Yup, the article mentions Symbian^3 and 4 ... no mention for older versions |

QUOTE(rahuldave @ Oct 21 2010, 07:42 PM) Appreciate if someone could share list of widgets that are compatible with N8 as well as must have applications. I'd like that kind of info too. What I have installed:1. Foursquare - good 2. Xchanger - Currency converter. Works but kinda ugly 3. Wikipedia Reader 4. Pixelpipe 5. ESPNsoccernet - has live score but news seems outdated 6. My Headlines - Malaysian news headlines from major newspapers 7. Techlines 8. Engadget 9. Nimbuzz - instant messaging 10. Memory Status This post has been edited by hsyong: Oct 21 2010, 07:54 PM |
