Guys, h/p supplies macam macam ada. The retailer confirmed he get for me already. Now the problem, if we go out buy N8 after this week, the retailers will jack up the price to 1.8k, 1.9k. Because, now suppliers purposely don wan supply ori phone already cuz next year h/p no more tax (they keeping the phone, create stock deficiency, then jack up price). The supplier want to push the sales of AP until stock finish andthey wont sell ori, unless u pay premium price. Motherf**ker.

Those who want to buy, better buy from Nokia store (but there is a possibility they will jack up the price). So, even if you want to avoid first batch stock and wait a few months till next year, you are likely to get first batch stock also. I pretend go ask other shops they give high price, because lack stock. The retailer i order from finally told me the reason. vmad.gif vmad.gif vmad.gif

So , its better to get it this week? I'm intending to get mine this Friday tho.
*
Get it as soon as possible. You delay more, the date when phone no tax is closer, they sell higher price. They want to clear AP stock. From next year AP and Ori same price ady.

QUOTE(hsyong @ Oct 19 2010, 08:25 PM)
The batter display bars don't seem very accurate.... stays very long at full bars then suddenly drop two bars (and when click the icon shows 70%).

Normal for Symbian?
*
Yes, Both my N73 and N95 also like that. It is like, the 1st bar = 25% of total battery, the 2nd bar = 20% of total battery, 3rd bar = 15%... So, if you have half left as indicated on the bar, u actually have around 35-40% left only. I think i wanna install apps that display battery more accurately. It is very misleading.

yeah can someone recommend which app is accurate is telling the battery indicator, memory indicate, something like that?
*
Cant recommend any for Sym^3, but S60 apps for battery indicator there are a few from 3rd part app developer. I dun dare install inappropriate apps even if it is supported on new symbian, later the restart issue come IF you are unlucky...

Do you believe that the battery indicator lag? Sometimes after a restart/reboot, battery suddenly drop 2-3 bars.
*
That might explain why bars drop suddenly. I think we need a separate app that displays everything - battery indicator, memory, Ram available etc. I think i've seen an app like that b4.

Being using 6120 and 5800, the 1st battery bar lasted really long then 2nd bar onwards go down faster.
This is Nokia or Symbian flaw?  rclxub.gif
Anyone using Android here, is the battery indicator better..  hmm.gif
*
Yes. I've used N70, N73 and N95 all also like that. doh.gif doh.gif doh.gif When got 3 bars left you have to watch out already (total is 7 i think). You have approx 6 hours of average usage left.

Hey, guys, wanna ask, can apps be installed in 16Gb mass memory (or memory card) instead of the ROM? My old Nseries phone allows apps to be installed in memory card.

depend on the battery life..
for new batt, last 1 bar also can standy few hr...

if battery weak / faulty... last 3 bar then sudden will off / dead..
*
My N73 change battery not long ago only (around 6 months) but also like that. N95 not that serious, like u said, last 1 bar cab use few hours but battery never change before yet. I think i better dump the N73 already, too much issues. I still keeping in my junk store drawer.

Odd, My N95 is close to 3 years old, My N73 (bought it cheap last time, new and also original) age is older by a few months only, but my N95 (AP set!!) battery never change before still going strong... rclxub.gif

not many OUTRIGHT suppliers take N8 now
got also the COST is very high very near the RRP..
now waiting for AP price adjustment to mayb below 1.4k...
since this model just expansive to the n900 little bit only..
*
N8 killed N900 and N97 actually. Especially when N8 and C7 is better than N900 in terms of hardware specs and only difference is OS.

N900 resolution...no way beating that too...
MicroB browser make N8's Nokia browser a total shame ==lll
Qwerty keypad...
can you install Android on N8 like N900
can you have Meego and Maemo dual-boot(soon on N900) on N8? ==lll
but still N8 trash in cam like totally tongue.gif

Tech geeks can differentiate it, but there are more dumb people than tech geeks out there. They walk in a shop, "what us the latest ad best model by Nokia?" Then retailer tell N8 @ RM 2000. Buy. Many people prefer buy latest model. When these dumb people hear 12 megapixel, 2k is cheap to them. doh.gif doh.gif doh.gif

This applies especially to citizens of Bolehland.

Hahaha... so you know about smartphone very well?

I never said im smart and im not a tech geek either, but this is reality. I observed it myself. Usually people go into shop, want new phone, the retailer will intro the newest one and the customer buys according to his budget. Those who wants the best, the retailer usually recomend the Nseries, and for our case now, N8.

and they will markup the price to make it seem like that phone is very highend ==lll lol.?.
lots of those non tech geeks think Iphone is the godly phone ==lll why because of the price and the cool factor for having a half-bitten apple ==lll
*
In fact, many retailer consider N8 as high end.

Yes, because there are ignorant people who buy phone for the look cool and "i have the best" thinking, people who never bother to check for firmware updates online, compare specifications and so on -they just want the so called latest and best available (thats what u guys call godlike phone). Sony ericsson loyalists so for SE phone, Nokia loyalists go for Nokia phone, and the rich one go for iPhone. I have a group of female frens here, all got iPhone -bcos fren influence, and so called the best. But, when i ask them about apps, firmware updates, they give me a blank "what is that" look. They know how to use it to make call, sms, internet, camera and music, nothing else. The only apps they know is GAMES. My dad is another example, last time when N95 is new, go and buy because it is the best back then, but he only use it for phone calls, sms, music player and camera. Nothing bout GPS, internet, bla bla bla

Face the reality. There are many ignorant people out there. N8 and C7 may not beat N900 on specification and performance, but in sales volume it will beat N900.

Many rich uncles also just buy Nokia 1100. No sms sms one, you want anything call.
*
Rich is not the main factor yet. Some people juz want to have something they idolize as godlike, some dun give a damn about smartphones - can call and sms enuf for them, but these rich uncles change mercedes every year. Some people are not rich, like me, but they do anything to save money (like, living like a beggar eating instant noodles) juz to save money and buy what they want like iPhone or iPad. I have to thank Gov give me RM 770 every month on allowance - im under JPA mah. tongue.gif

Easier for me to browse with single tap to zoom.

Multitouch makes the screen look cool, but i prefer the volume button to control the zooms somehow.
