Let me tell you guys, i played with the phone las nite, used laptop in Ovi store and sent link to my N8 on NFS HD to download. But i failed to open the link thru the default browser (says connection failed, or something like that) although my phone is connected to WLAN. Then only i notice - you have to switch WIDGETS to ONLINE mode, or the browser wont work although you are connected. =.=

QUOTE(sklchan @ Oct 23 2010, 10:45 AM) it's tricky to know which connection will be use by which widget as not all widget utilize the wifi, some of them die die also want to use the 3g as it's connection point... I dont have that problem. I use GSM network only in connectivity settings. Then, almost every widgets & apps that i have, i check the settings, some have options of using which network as priority/ask for permission etc. Quite troublesome, but at least you can change the settings. And, when u launch an app, on the top left corner they will notify : "connecting thru WLAN/3G/Maxis WAP... etc... " see carefully when you launch an app. If thats what u dowan quickly cancel and exit the app, then check the app's settings. This post has been edited by EXkurogane: Oct 23 2010, 11:23 AM

QUOTE(ZeneticX @ Oct 23 2010, 11:58 AM) how is the audio quality of n8? via headset Sound production is quite good, bass very obvious, but I'm using my own headset, which is many times better than Nokia's headset.

QUOTE(ZeneticX @ Oct 23 2010, 12:29 PM) what headset are u using ah? im thking of chging to other headset as well but might lose the call function and music functions frm the stock headset. any recommendations? It writes AVF. Is it Altec Lansing? I use the big headset (the ones laptop use), prefer that, surroud sound and bass very powerful and ear wont feel pain after long use. The headset does not have a microphone over the mouth area, but can take phone calls. Just talk and it acts as handsfree. Superb. No play/stop/skip buttons like Nokia headset but has volume control (it is loud even your handset music player volume is 10%, you'll need the volume control on the headset). The model I'm using is HM035. This post has been edited by EXkurogane: Oct 23 2010, 12:39 PM

QUOTE(pirateguy @ Oct 23 2010, 12:46 PM) Wrong. 720p videos demand high CPU work, and the N8 cannot handle 720p files encoded with flash. Flash? Hmm... i usually use AVI and mkv, shouldnt be much problems i suppose? (I dont have any vid higher resolution than 720p anyway)

QUOTE(stanley85 @ Oct 23 2010, 01:34 PM) yeah i did reboot it last night, but it happen again.. now it's alright already, but sometimes the problem come again..i wonder if it's their bug? Added on October 23, 2010, 1:34 pmbtw there is the reply from nokia .. Thank you for emailing Nokia Careline. We understand that you would like to know what will happen in the event that the warranty stickers peel off from the Nokia N8. We strongly suggest that you put a protective covering for your Nokia N8 to prevent the warranty stickers from peeling off as this may void your warranty. Peeling of the stickers will fall under the evidence of tampering in the Limited Warranty. Please visit our website at www.nokia.com.my for more information and support for your Nokia device. If you have further inquiries, please write to us again or contact Nokia Careline at 1300 881600. We operate between the hours of 8:00am and 8:00pm, seven days a week. I peeled it off and stick in on the warranty card. Thats what my retailer asked me to do.

QUOTE(stanley85 @ Oct 23 2010, 02:13 PM) anyway i just call to the garden nokia, they told me just to tear off the sticker...cos there is warranty sticker inside the phone. so no worries... anyway..the silver color zitron sticker can't be tear off in complete shape, there is holes remain on the phone.. uh... i just tear all of them..dun care now..it made my phone look ugly nope...when first time use..din install any application also lidat already... i just forgot to mention Oh, zitron sticker... Mine is by avaxx. The hologram sticker is on a piece od plastic like screen protector clear plastic, then only the clear plastic is pasted on the ack off the phone. So, all i have to do is peel the clear plastic like how you peel the same clear plastic on the camera. The hologram is stuck on the plasric unscathed.

QUOTE(super_evil_alien @ Oct 23 2010, 02:20 PM) If you see the disassembled N8 pictures in iFix you'll know that it's actually easy to disassemble N8. Any daring can disassemble their N8,spray it & assemble it again. It is easy to disasseble, but is it equally to reassemble for those without knowledge on this kinda stuff lol.

Guys, juz wanna ask which shooting mode is better for night? Went over to Gurney Penang yesterday. I noticed N8's pics are bright enough without flash. The first pic below is landscape mode, second is night mode. Personally i prefer the yellowish landscape mode though (the lightings there are yellowish in the first place). Quite some considerable amount of noise, i think the camera tend to over expose pics, even in night mode i think i need to reduce the ISO. And, maybe there is camera shake, =.=, my hands... sigh... QUOTE(stanley85 @ Oct 24 2010, 09:33 AM) lol ic... yeah...but in this photo it's not really significant. maybe can notice it in original size The area that got light, sure a bit blurr, or is that noise? My photos some are like that, especially outdoors one, Indoors one not that significant. Added on October 24, 2010, 10:09 amMore pics. Indoor shots on the N8 is good, only outdoor night shots are a bit tricky for me. Everything is Automatic - scene mode, flash, EV, ISO... QUOTE(stanley85 @ Oct 24 2010, 10:33 AM) hmm...perhaps enlargement of these photo it's not blur, it's totally plain white color, which content no pixel at all Over exposure. Ya, i have that problem, not that obvious indoors, but outdoor night shots, the lights around, there seems to be some. I think i need to try again by decreasing ISO.
