stop reading those reviews and get yourself a camera.

you cannot use this as a general guide. if you don't pixel peep, or blow up your pictures, even f3.5 or f4 can be used. still acceptable sharpness.

but why do people decrease their aperture to f10, f16, f22? simply said, it is to extend your shutter speed/exposure time WITHOUT over exposing your picture due to long exposure. if you are shooting in the dark.

if shooting in the day, same theory applies also. the main point of is to control your exposure.

so if you find that f22 might diffract your picture, try to shoot using a ND filter and use f16 or f18 instead.

buy f20 la..the difference only the GN power and the head cannot turn..so much cheaper also...

with iso 12800 and shoot at f3.5 at 1/10, i don't see why you can't shoot in dim light nowadays.

the angle of view quite tight lor. have u tested the a55? try setting the focal length to 50mm and shoot around for 10-15minutes. how do you feel?

i using local AF.

unfortunately my wide AF isn't as accurate as the new models or like 1Dmark IV/7D..i've screwed up a lot of shoots with wide AF and i forsee i won't be using it anymore.

in this situation i only can use local AF and use the corner AF points and hope for the best. if i use spot focus confirm backfocus.

edit: and dun use f1.4 lor..the DOF too shallow to shoot 2 person at once..

errr..corner because it can reach the subject ma...am i making sense?

if use centre AF point 90% will focus background.

back from 3 days shooting...i think i can live with the back focusing issue...

anyway..CZ is definitely more sharper..even at wide open...colours also much nicer..
