Hi there all,

new forumer here icon_rolleyes.gif

im on AMD Phenom II x6 1090T BE mobo is Gigabyte 890PA-UD3H..

i did try to test out by configuring the BIOS 1st..

setting the processor from 3.6GHz to 3.8GHz

the problem is when i'm on windows & running the CoreTemp,
CoreTemp just displaying 0 celcius for all core...

what went wrong? what step that i missed out? rclxub.gif

nope.. this is the new rig...

when im reverting back to previous configuration in the BIOS
the coreTemp temperature displayed normally... hmm.gif

in the meantime i'll try to google out what is the main problem...
try to find out the solution...

. i just want to make sure the temp is ok 1st & then
i try to proceed OC by test it out using Prime95..

Hey guys..

did try to solve the previous problem that i faced before...
(temp doesn't displayed in Core Temp)

some say it caused by the CPU Unlock is set to Enabled in the BIOS

i did try to test it out by disabling the CPU Unlock, now the temp is displayed..

for your info i've downloaded & use the AMD Overdrive tool.. and try to test it out..
here's the result:

what i did 1st is i set the CPU core multiplier a lil'bit higher

& then i'm running the Stability Test (AMD Overdrive) for 20 min...
if there's BSOD or system hang, i reboot pc, i then set the CPU Voltage a lil'bit higher
and redo again the previous configuration (previous max clock that caused BSOD or system hang)
and the re-run the Stability Test...

and that is the max i get.. for now...

just a question tho, is the Stability Test (that is provided also in the AMD Overdrive), is it reliable?

if everythin ok then i'll try to set it out (the max clock) on the BIOS...

why ur vcore r to high? hmm.gif mine 1.4v at 4ghz is it require more volt to increase 100mhz?  sweat.gif iam afraid u encounter same prob with athlonmax doh.gif
*
yeah.. sweat.gif
i've forgot to ask that one also (how come it is in high voltage) LoL

QUOTE(cloudwan @ Dec 23 2010, 09:05 AM)
AOD Stability test is a bit weak, try testing it with prime95, orthos or OCCT.. hmm.gif
And like fatalynx05 said thats kinda high cpu volt just for a mere 100mhz increase sweat.gif
*
ok.. will try to test it out on prime95...
hmm.gif some say OCCT is good in checking the NB....

Thanks Mie, will look into it later.  biggrin.gif

Yeah my mobo is GA-880GMA-UD2H
Normally for X6 the vcore voltage shouldnt be that high, around 1.3-1.4 is enuff i think.

*
yeah.. it shouldn't be high.. hehe
maybe im stressing too much on the CPU only...
without looking at others.. (NB)..

There's no wrong testing both, but in me & ah_khoo case its just the matter of $$$, we don't have that luxury  sweat.gif  laugh.gif
To me if u just wanna test bench using cpu volt of 1.5v and above is no prob just that i don't really condone it to be use for 24/7 sweat.gif

Anyway its a shame that Gigabyte only put 4+1 phase in their 890GX mobo's, kinda weird for me coz they put 8+2 phase on some of their 870 mobo sweat.gif
*
yeah.. same with me also.. tight on budget hehehe
true, 1.5v is a NO when running it 24/7... sweat.gif
maybe Gigabyte try to play safe? what i mean is on 890GX - built-in GC...
while 870 model didn't have built-in GC? blush.gif (correct me if im wrong)

QUOTE(fatalynx05 @ Dec 23 2010, 01:32 PM)
regarding the mobo i also kinda shock ... but the mobo handle oc well even 4+1 phase  rclxms.gif  but sure cannot tahan with high tdp proc  sweat.gif

this... i agree... no la.. im also on tight budget...
hehe thanx... but for now i want to play safe.. anyway thanx for guiding me
in OC my rig.. icon_rolleyes.gif

Yea, why Gigabyte not selling here? i did sent an e-mail to the Gigabyte product distributor in Malaysia, they replied that
that mobo memang tak masuk malaysia. I didn't ask in details why they didnt bring in the mobo here, prolly want to get untung
more on the UD7.  mad.gif
*
true.. it's kinda unfair sad.gif
i've also would love to try that mobo out..

nevermind... cool.gif in the future i might reconsider in upgrading my current spec..
at that time maybe there's much more better mobo...
