I'm planning to open ebay store and start selling. If I were to sell my item internationally, where do I open my store? www.ebay.com.my (Ebay Malaysia) or www.ebay.com (Ebay).

I've read in some blogs, if i were to open in store in Ebay Malaysia, I cant list my item internationally?
Is that true?

All Ebay Sifu in lowyat forum, please help me.

Thanks.

Hello

If you want to sell internationally, you have to open a store in ebay.com. It will expose your items mainly in US market.

If ebay.com.my (actually if open store have to open in ebay.com.sg) singapore, only malaysians can see the items. No traffic. But the monthly fees will be lesser.

If open in Ebay Malaysia, you still can list in ebay.com but not ebay stores fees rate.

For more info you can look into ebay.com or ebay.com.my website

If you list in Ebay International, your items can be seen in Europe, US, Middle East, basically worldwide.

Used to be ebay ~.com.my was free, but no foreign buyers can see your item listings. That difference can be huge, we talking MYR 10,000 - 100,000 per month of plain fees alone if you having multiple accounts selling 15 items a day (recommended using Ebay auto listing desktop software). Of course your online sales would be many fold of that figure.

Humble advice you get a few international partner-auctioners in various countries to help you retail.
These citizenship does indeed would have it much easier for them to sell compared to an Asian citizenship, even MITI has that documented haha.

There's some part of expenses you might like to know ahead:
+ Listing (Ad) fee
+ Sold auction percentage fees
+ E-Monies (i.e. Paypal) percentage fees
+ cost of unsuccessful listings, disputes, freebidders, legal, etc.

Don't forget the hundreds of other auction sites out there, in various languages, and especially hawt in certain geographic zones.
I.e. Japan, Manhattan, London, Switzerland, etc. The language barrier is only a minor part to get by.

Anyway, grats on successfully retrieving your monies in Ringgit Malaysia daily - don't forget our local IRS.

BTW, should you require international dropshipping services, for manufactured produce / products targeted for worldwide geographical consumer + retail markets, feel free to contact / PM me.
We ship out to online auction customers every next working day while providing good distributor's costings to our distributors with mass manufacturing economies of scale.

Thanks for the details explaination. I'm planning sell items in small quantity. Just for a start. My target is to list 10 - 20 items per month.

Question -

If let say I were to sell items in January and February, and not sell anything on March, will ebay charge my monthly fees for the store?

Do you know ebay's charging procedure?

If you just want to list 10 to 20 items, then you should not open an ebay store in ebay.com. The fees is fixed every month, regardless you sell anything or not.

You should start with auction and then fixed price listing

Btw, for more info, need to read the ebay fees section. Too many information to explain

the rate fees for ebay malaysia and ebay international are different..eg: for ebay malaysia, u can insert up to 3-4 pictures of product for free..but in ebay international only free for 1 pic...the listing fee also different..but beware when listing your product and mind to check the fees carefully...
maybe u need this tool for list your product..more easy compare manual listing in ebay..

Ways to Pay eBay Fees

When you set up your seller account, you’ll specify an automatic payment method to pay your seller fees. However, you can also make a one-time payment. (If you make a one-time payment, check your billing cycle date to make sure you allow at least 5 days between your scheduled automatic payment and your one-time payment to prevent duplicate payments.)

Please note that the automatic payment method and one-time payment method are different on various eBay sites and vary based on your registration site.

I got restricted if using ebay.com.my to sell internationally......

They stated securebuy verifying.....and doesn't allow me to list my item.

You can not submit your listing due to the following problems
Attention:
To keep eBay safe, eBay reviews the accounts of members who are actively selling with multiple user IDs. While your accounts are being reviewed, you won't be able to sell with any of your accounts.

To begin the review of your accounts so that you can start using eBay again, Call us to speak with an eBay Customer Support agent. Please have a list of all your eBay user IDs available

We'll review your accounts and get in touch with you to let you know when you're able to sell on eBay again or if we need more information.

Anyone got any solution for it?
