Hi boss, to what I know, most of DELL's laptop use 12.7mm optical drive, but as there are too many models of laptop in the market, we can't know it all with 100% certainty. However, as a general note, almost 70% and above of optical drives in the market are of 12.7mm thickness type, the remaining, which comprise mostly those from IBM/LENOVO and certain Apple laptops uses the 9.5mm type. Of course, another important aspect to check is the caddy interface, which most of the modern ones are SATA.
The only way to make certain which caddy is suitable for your laptop is to take out your optical drive and compare it with the specs we provide in the listing. We strongly recommend our buyer to do so because in any which way, you need to make sure you know how to take out your optical drive if you plan to use this HDD caddy, so treat this as an essential practice to ensure you know how to replace it when you got you OBHD caddy later.
