Well, if you do have overseas transactions then I would suggest you keep MBB Petronas since it is free and has the lowest rate for overseas transaction. I regret cancelling my MBB Petronas as now Alliance Visa overseas rate is high.

As the the other cards, cancel all and get OCBD Titanium  tongue.gif

Cancel UOB One Plat as OCBC Titanium better as gives 5% at all petrol station, groceries store and for dining.

Cancel HSBC Premier if you have it because you deposited FD with them. There are better rates from other banks for up to one year tenure (for comparison, RM200K you can get RM1500 extra interest a year). However before you cancel HSBC Premier, go apply for CIMB WMC using your HSBC CC. If you did read previous posts, with HSBC CL of RM30K, you can qualify for CIMC WMC.

With CIMB WMC cancel your CIMB Petronas as CIMB WMC got better offer. With OCBC Titanium you get 5% rebate for all petrol stations so no need CIMB Petronas.

Citibank Signature - well this is SG card? Guess you would want to keep it.

Thanks advise.

Since i'm not staying at Msia, so far i didn't enjoy any benefit from local card issuer. BTW my HSBC offer me 3+% interest some more holding lots unit from them. So far that is best services their provided compare with other bank.

Heard that ocbc titanium offer until end of till year, so far not interest with those short term offer, consider standchart privilege from worldwide, airport lounge entry. Does cimb offer better?

Citibank will keep it unless . . . ( lost it ??? ) haha . . . best card !! no preset limit . . Compare with previous rhb VI, differ class, better n better. . .

What do you think about UOB prefered Plat ? Their asking me to take just keep relation with them cos today i go to cxl my card !

Actually since you are overseas, the OCBC Titanium is the best for you since the rebates are based on MCC codes (which are assigned by Visa and Mastercard). I can attest to getting rebates for dining, petrol and groceries overseas smile.gif

Just have to do proper spending planning to not charge more than RM1k to the card from January onwards (@ RM50 rebate, card pays itself by the first month) which is usually quite simple due to the foreign currency rates.

Currently I am tracking my spending to make sure i don't spend more than RM2k on 5% rebate categories and likewise on the 1% rebate general items every month. Total Rebate after 2nd month of usage -> RM235++
*
OCBC only participant with certain merchants, not much rebate getting from them. Just consider 1% off all other purchase, the point of view, i won't enjoy like 5% categories rewards since oversea purchase not entitle this offer although MCC codes based, their still go tru as all other purchase. Don't belief, you try it. blink.gif

Are you sure OCBC 5% rebate is not entitled for overseas spending?
*
I'm not sure, just asking. Most of card i use did not enjoy those rebate from local bank. Correct me if wrong. As some advise that titanium spending at oversea still getting rebate 5%, do anyone try that before?

Really than i cut UOB than jump to titanium. rclxm9.gif

BTW, they come with GE Titanium, same promotion? Cos i'm GE policy holder.

Thanks advise

Think you did not read my post correctly. OCBC is not attached to merchants. I was getting 5% rebates for overseas groceries, petrol and dining. So yeah I've tried it  smile.gif

Your gain or loss whether you believe me or not.

Emm... Cos i didn't read old post, sry bro. . blink.gif

Maybe i should cxl UOB and CIMB unless go ahead with WMC

But sometimes you do know these bank employees do not understand their card product very well right ? HSBC Group released a statement a year or two ago that USA is the first country where it offers a World MasterCard follow by Japan and Australia. They do plan to roll this card out in all other countries but thus far there is no news on this. Australia was the last addition to their list of country that offers World MasterCard from the HSBC Group, if my memory serves me correctly.

And yes, HSBC Holdings has indeed signed up to offer World MasterCard from MasterCard Worldwide but Malaysia is not yet in the list it is offering this type of card.

Refer Standchart:

Simply apply for your Preferred World MasterCard Credit Card together with a Preferred M2 Account today. All you need is a minimum of RM72,000 in deposits and/or investments with us, or a minimum of RM400,000 in housing loans with us or a minimum annual income of RM72,000 to qualify.

Do MUST pledge a deposit 72k or invest or 400k housing loan with them? Or just normal annual income 72k eligible to apply?

For the very first year, you don't need to fulfill the requirement of item (1) or (2) as long as you are able to show proof of an annual income of RM72,000. However for second year onwards, you must fulfill the requirement of either (1) or (2), or else a heavy penalty will be charged.

Thanks advise, no point to make 72k deposit to account, do it as invest more better ^^.

BTW, OCBC titanium or Platinum which is better? Known that rebate are very delicious compare other card.

At 0.5% only, there are better cards to consider like HSBC Amanah Plat  (0.5% normal transaction, 1% overseas transactions).
*
If using at oversea not worst however 1% rebate, currency and conversion charge approx 1% from total purchase, charge more to earn more rebate ???

*
Maybank Petronas Platinum or OCBC Titanium i think. Higher cash rebate and lower admin charge. Best promotion offer @ asiawide. If worldwide, citibank and hsbc. Personal comments. whistling.gif

My current card

HSBC Premier
Citi Visa Signature ( Singapore )
MBB Petro Plat
Standchart Visa Business Plat

Now jump in to Titanium......
It's been documented that Standard Chartered exchange rates are one of the highest. however with rebate and points, it is better than the HSBC cards
I am tempted to change my petronas plat to a normal plat as MBB seems to give inconsistent service and offerings to this card.
*
Noted with thanks. Do MBB normal plat offer rebate? or their WMC ?

With Alliance Bank Visa rate now comparable to other cards, I reapply for MBB Petronas Plat Visa last week and today called up CS and was told application has been approved.

So anyone here knows if get 2X for overseas spending with MBB Petronas Card?
SCB VI also issued to people having loan with SCB.

As for SCB 1 year FD, there's no promotion rate and rate lowest (unless opt for the weird 5 years FD tenure where interest rate is changeable). For 1 year FD better go deposit with another bank and get extra RM2500 cash and free gift too.

Unless one goes overseas often, what other better benefits does SCB VI offer over other Plat cards?
OCBC Titanum offers 1% cashback for general transactions, so how is above 1% of importance?
got the email too, but since it only up to Dec 2010, lazy to go and change auto debit to OCBC.
just got my OCBC Titanium statement today too. Unlike AMEX Gold CC where it list down the merchants where we get extra 3X points, OCBC doesn't breakdown the cash back. Got charged interest of RM221.09 and noted there was a reversal for the same amount. Next month got to fast fast do BT to DA and enjoy another 6 months 0% interest. Got max cashback of RM120  thumbup.gif Last month miss the max cash back by RM20.

SCB VI able to join with housing loan?? curious ?? Coming yrs loan Condo @ JB . . KIV....

Thanks for info above.

I was in Singapore on 6 Oct where I posted earlier Alliance Visa 2.44297, OCBC 2.41113 and DAWMC 2.41121. Based on this, I would be paying RM30 more for every SG1K using Alliance.

Based on your info above, MBB 2.42 and OCBC 2.45, MBB is cheaper by RM30 for every SG1K compared to OCBC or convert to Ringgit, savings of 1.23%. Considering my transactions where OCBC and DA rate almost same, MBB rate still beats my DAWMC even taking into consideration of the extra 1 reward points for overseas spending which gives equivalent to 0.5% "cash back".

Therefore if compared Alliance to MBB based on above data, the difference may go up to RM60 for every SG1K.

Anyone have comparison of rate for EON Bank with others? May consider EON Signature where it gives extra 1% for overseas spending in addition to 2X reward points.
*
Agree with your opinion. MBB orffer low conversion charge and admin charge compare with other bank card. But why you don't get S'pore card?

If you're using titanium to enjoy promotion, that great enough to use it, Example: OCBC card -10% item purchase. 1k item become 0.9k convert to rm approx 2.14kRM. If you're using MBB card, although low charges but not worst. Cos you still have to pay full amount 1k. Choose the right merchant to use the right card ^^ rclxms.gif

I am interested to know the exchange rate for Standard Chartered Priority Banking VISA Infinite. If the exchange rate is more or less the same as OCBC's or DA's, then it is very worth to use it overseas due to the 5x Choice Points  biggrin.gif
