Not for me, I've been a Maybank CC owner since 2002 with almost a 6-figure credit limit and 5-figure expenditure every year. They didn't blink when I said I'd like to cancel because I didn't want to pay GST so I cancelled. The gorgeous customer service lady at their 1U branch said management usually doesn't budge when threatened with cancellations and they had no power to do anything about it.

Good luck to you when trying.

You should have called their card center.

Yeah. It is the difference about needing a guarantor or not for your car loan. Your future housing loan is a different story though lol. On time payment means shit if you're using 80% of your total revolving credit limit.

ollo! just have my credit card. one question tho, i signed it but my signature looks bad.

does it have any effect when i do transaction? i mean signature irregularity maybe?

and what does paywave mean? can i use it at petronas station?
*
signature is fine as long as it looks the same. get more practice before you sign next time.

paywave means you use your cc like touch and go at the terminal. the terminal will need to have a wave sign though.

try apply and see the outcome? biggrin.gif

but I find that EON Bank is quite ... err, not generous I would say

I spent more than 12k from Oct 09 to Sept 10, they only upgrade my CL from RM3,000 to RM4,000

or maybe I am not big spender for them biggrin.gif

Keep near to credit limit balance or make a 0% easy installment plan purchase a few months before the next review and you'll see the magic happens. Next year your credit limit may doubled! just don't have late payment more than two times a year.

You got your credit limit doubled after one year? I wonder what is the minimum period to request for the increasement of Credit Limit? 6 months? hmm.gif
*
My credit limit started with 5k and for the first year my credit limit does not increase at all. It was Maybank and can you imagine how pissed I was. I request for a credit limit increase but they request for my payslip. Since my income sucks, I send them a poslaju with a copy of my CDS statement and that days share closing price and the total amount I would received had I sold all my shares. I wrote a letter as well on how I would like to purchase new furniture's as my current one is pretty old and how I would like to take the opportunity to use the 0% EPP offered by Maybank. I further explained to them how I would still prefer to use their facility because the share price could still go up and I do not want to lose out on the opportunity cost.

They only doubled up my credit limit so I make an appeal and they explained how they could only give me 2x because of the risk involve and they do not know my pattern that well as I have only been with them for 1 year. The only way you can request more growth for your credit limit is by depositing lots of money in their bank or a huge payslip. But than people with 30k a month income still only get 60k based on payslip alone. I have seen people with 10k/mth with 100k credit limit. shocking.gif CCRIS is only 1 year. So keyword is be loyal and be active and your card limit will grow.

Btw, you swipe a lot, so just be patient and wait for an auto-increase. They are suspicious when you ask but they will gladly give you when the time comes. And oh yeah for my first year I utilize less than 50% of my credit limit on average so that's why no increase. But yeah from what I've learned, if you have the swipe power, keep on swiping. Otherwise, just keep on balancing. Like when the time comes for an auto credit review, a few months in advance just pay min, jack it up than once ur credit limit has been increased for a year pay it down. Opening new accounts hoping that the new bank will give you more credit limit than the previous bank won't work so well now since you have to pay RM50 as soon as your card is approved.

Alternatively, you could memorize your cc number. If you have a lot than I can't help you lol. Just remember to keep the cash deposit slip at least until your next e-statement.

I have learned the hard way. However I was fortunate enough to remember the date and time I put it in and they credit it in the end. Probably system failure but keeping the slip will save you all the hassle.

including RHB too, not sure about all branch but my nearest branch is still using envelope when i remit EPF payment on behalf of my uncle. Plus, I found out that my area of easy rhb branch don't accept cheque  blink.gif  because they don't install the cheque machine yet.
*
I think for local banks only MBB, PBB, and CIMB using cheque scan. Citibank still using envelope even though they were the first to have the cheque machines. The new Citibank branch in USJ even worse...cheque drop-in only.

It is OK ... lot of people use payment convenience as an excuse for their selection of credit card.
Personally I don't care where the bank is located as what I want is the card privileges.

like Citibank. rclxms.gif

Public Bank uses only the touch screen machine that provides the image of the deposited cheque while Maybank and CIMB Bank use both the old cheque drop box as well as the touch screen machine. Anyway, Maybank and CIMB Bank still use mostly the old cheque drop box.

Yeah probably not all but major branch would have it as in those at corner lots and the ones that occupy a few shops. What I hate most is cash deposit machine that will always reject notes even when the notes are just fresh out from another bank's ATM machine

My friend applied for a DA Visa Platinum card when he passed his CFA level 3. He submitted his income, his diploma and his CFA level 3 pass slip along with a letter from CFA Malaysia. They rejected his application stating that he does not meet min education requirements. Didn't they say professional body as well? doh.gif shakehead.gif

FYI, CFA is neither DA's Affinity Partners nor Joint Marketing Partners.
And your friend did not produce Degree cert but Diploma.
All things went wrong. No wonder failed wor. sweat.gif
*
The problem is he is not applying for any of those professionally branded cards. He is applying for a normal DA Visa Plat. He may only has a diploma but a degree is lower than a CFA. sad.gif

Degree is Degree, if you fail to comply with the requirement, don't blame the bank.
Ask your friend to explain to the bank, why CFA is higher than a Degree. Then the bank's management may consider to have a meeting and discuss about this matter.
*
It is okay, they approved him the Visa Infinite instead. It was when he received a different card that he calls them up and ask why but when he confirms it he just kept his mouth shut. It is only me complaining. ohmy.gif

So, the fact is, CFA member is eligible for Visa Infinite instead of lower grade Platinum  tongue.gif

I doubt it. They did say it was not recognized. His income is probably over 80k but it is not around 200k. Otherwise, he would have applied direct right? I think he is lucky he applied at the time when GST was introduced. Many canceled their cards so they probably see this new guy and take this as an opportunity to bind him. I guess the annual requirement is not as strict as the degree requirement. sleep.gif

i never know that degree is lower than CFA. honestly i also dont want to about CFA, and dont want to know. :sweat:wah ur friend with diploma got annual salary 200k! notworthy.gif  notworthy.gif  notworthy.gif even lower gold card too! whistling.gif
*
One of the entry requirement is a degree but there is some leniency...that makes it higher than a degree. wink.gif It like doing an MBA. You don't need a degree either, they only look at your GMAT scores. rolleyes.gif

I emailed Ambank for service tax waiver but they disallow as they mentioned those tax is payable to Gov.

They asked me to use 10k points to redeem for offset.

I would rather opt to terminate their credit card service.
*
Hopefully in future years they can waive it. Anyway, it is a move in the right direction by the Gov. There are more free for life credit cards. Even now for those who still have a swipe min for auto fee waiver, swipe xx times a year is so much better and it isn't as restrictive as having to swipe twice a month for a year. Beats not having to call to waive.
