As requested in v11 thread, this is the list of my spending on OCBC Titanium card from 9/28-10/11.
The spending listed is "round down" and "sum".

479.00  Klinik + Insurance
253.00  Carrefour Tropicana
119.00  Giant Kelana Jaya
45.00  Petrol BHP
58.00  Pizza Hut
42.00  Secret Recipe
113.00  TMOnline
100.00  TNB @ Kedai Tenaga
100.00  TNB @ OCBC

5% rebate 28.95
1% rabate 7.32
The first transaction is obviously 1%.
The others is obviously 5%. Somehow, I get 1% for some of my spending. To be accurate, RM253 total spending goes to 1%.
My first guessing is Carrefour which 253 sharp.

Hope the expert here can help.  rclxms.gif

Lara, I believe the rebate is calculated based on nearest ringgit of TOTAL SPENDING for each category (1% rebate and 5% rebate) and not rounded down for each transaction. That's why you will be seeing 10cent difference from your calculation.

5.  The OCBC Titanium Cash Rebate Programme is calculated based on the Total Retail Spend for the month and is non-cumulative from previous month.

roy918: So we should add those under 5% rebate spending, and then only RoundDown to calculate the 5% ?
*
Yes, that is what i got from my statement. If not should see 10cent difference.

Thanks for the prompt reply.

5% OR RM50 whichever is higher?

You mean just settle the amount based on the above on 31-oct and  30-nov and
settle the total accumulated amount on the 31-dec without any interest and late charges incurred?

example:
oct spending rm2000, pay 5%*2000=rm100 on 31-oct
nov spending rm4000, pay 5%*(2000-100+4000)=RM295 on 30-nov
dec spending rm3000, pay (2000-100+4000-295+3000)=rm8605 on 31-dec

Is this way to calculate?

Your calculation is good but you can't use your credit card from Jan 1st to your statement date.
Or else interest will be changed on your transaction (from Jan 1st to statement date) as you are not entitle to 20-days interest free period (since your previous month outstanding balance is not zero).

Trying "utilise" OCBC Titanium 0% Interest until 31 Dec 2010.
Here's my scenario

Statement Date: 15 Oct 2010,
Amount Due: RM10000
Minimum Paid: RM500
1. No Interest is charged on RM9500, right ?

Statement Date: 15 Nov 2010,
Amount Due: RM10000 + RM9500
Minimum Paid: RM975
2. No Interest is charged on RM18525, right ?

Statement Date: 15 Dec 2010,
Amount Due: RM1475 + RM18525
Minimum Paid: RM1000
3. No Interest is charged on RM19000, right ?

Is the above 3 statements (1)/(2)/(3) correct ?
We should settle all outstanding before 31 Dec 2010, right ?
*
You couldn't do any transaction with OCBC credit card from Dec 16th to Jan 15th or interest will be charged to those transaction since your Dec statement outstanding is not zero. Or you will have to settle all outstanding (including those transaction between Dec 16th to 31st Dec) on or before Dec 31st and not doing any transaction from jan 1st to Jan 15th.

Why would I be charged interest for new Retail Transactions from 16 Dec to 31 Dec ?
*
If you are not settle all retail transaction from Dec 16th to Dec 31st, these transaction doesn't entitle to 20 days interest-free period.
So, it will be charged interest starting from 1jan 1st to next statement date.

For item 3, No interest up to Dec 31. After that, there will be interest on the RM19K if you have yet to settle in full.

If your statement is on Dec 15, your due date would be around 5th of January. Just settle everthing in full before Dec31 for the amount shown in the Dec 15 statement.

For my case, once I get my December 11 statement, going to BT 90% of outstanding immediately to DA and settle the balance with OCBC before Christmas. Kiasu a bit in case got hiccups due to BT documentations.

Why is  this? I was under the impression if I settled the entire statement balance, I will be entitled to interest free new retail transactions from Dec 15 onwards....
*
Opss. My bad.
Since Dec statement will be settled in full before Dec 31st, so no interest will be charged to new retail transaction.
Really sorry for all the confusion.

Hi all, for mbf credit card, how to know it is ambank line of credit or mbf line of credit? For their latest promotion - power credit where 3 years 0% interest for credit facility. What is meant by credit facility? Can cash out with 0% interest? Thanks.
*
If you are paying to Ambank then it is Ambank LOC, else it is MBF LOC.
The promotion only limited for RM3000 (platinum card) or RM2000 (gold card) of outstanding amount.
I guess cash advance doesn't entitle for 0% in this promotion (see here).

Jz found out that if we wanna change our billing date, we will not be able to enjoy the cash discount anymore.  Weird..

Cash discount or cash rebate?
There is no problem in getting cash rebate after changed billing date for my card.
