Dear fellow members,
I have an enquiries to ask, which bothers me for quite sometimes.. I was told since many years ago that using credit card for overseas purchase could be cheaper because of favourable exchange rates. But it seems not to be that case in my recent overseas transactions. Not to mention the extra 1% administrative charges levy by Visa/Mastercard. If I were to buy from money changer USD to RM : 3.095 - 3.10 My transactions using credit card: USD to RM : (RM19.12 = $6.00 which work out to be 3.18) That's about 3% premium that I have to pay! That may be a small amount, but if the amount is huge, the difference is significant... Is there any person have a completely different experience compared to mine? |
