QUOTE(winner @ Nov 8 2010, 10:45 AM) Can you specify which MBB card are you holding? As far as I know, MBB does not compensate customers with free points or cash for the service tax. MBB customers have to sacrifice their hard-earned points or cash to pay the service tax. Also, credit card service tax and annual fee are totally 2 different things. Last month I cancelled my MBB Visa & MBB Amex Gold C.Card with MBB. Then MBB call me to retain at lease one CC and offer me 10,000 points to offset the GST. If you one to avoid paying the CC GST, then you will need to request to cancel your CC first and hope the bank will call you. So far, i know MBB & Citibank did the same.....by offering you 10,000 reward points.

QUOTE(yhtan @ Nov 11 2010, 09:21 PM) i think not everyone will enjoy this privilege, most likely he spend quite a lot on Maybank credit card or he is one of the premier account holder So far as I know, only MBB, CITI, MBF, RHB & HLBB will offer you the 10K reward points to offset your RM 50 - GST if you cancel their Credit Card. As for PBB & EON Bank, they don't even call you when you cancel their Credit Card. Just to share with you guys.

QUOTE(winner @ Nov 21 2010, 11:00 AM) CIMB has not joined the fray yet. But CIMB has successfully gained its market share by simply increasing CL and approving premium cards like WMC and VI. Somebody here mentioned that MBB offered him free 10,000 points to offset the service tax when he intended to terminate his card. MBB will offer you 10,000 points if you terminate the CC.
