MSI Mini OverClocking Gathering
Since there has been quite a 'few' requesting Mini OC Gathering recently, your request has been granted. As usual, "coolice and gang" is ready to serve the community. The only difference this time is that coolice will not be around and the location is not Sunway. It in Sanko's lair in Setapak. Fortunately after i made a call to my 'usual contact', MSI is willing to come out with 'prizes' for this round of Gathering. Ops, did i mention? There will be a mini competition. I REALLY DO HOPE ENTHUSIAST TREAT THE PRIZES AS SECOND PRIORITY. Gather, Learn, Share is always FIRST!!

Side Note
This time round i would like to gain feedback from the community what kind of challenge you all prefer. I'll follow the crowd. Do take note that i could only set up one AMD Based rig and one Intel Based rig. If you are a regular to "coolice and gang" gatherings, you should know that due to restriction budget/sponsor, we couldn't only provide 1 or 2 rigs for the OC Challenge. For bigger size OC Challenge it's not up to us, it's up to the manufacturers or big community websites (with income). We are only volunteering since there's hardly any OC Gatherings/Competitions in Malaysia.

i have d urge to attend since i missed out countless gatherin... hmmm... let me submit half day oc leave to my superior 1st... lol...

Master Khoo if you come, i'm really speechless. With love from singapore. luckily i always remember AMD players. as it was such a short notice, i got no other choice but to find my 'best' contact. if not this may be a ASUS/Gigabyte event. hehe... i hope you all won't mind as it's once again MSI.

Sanko koko, me ish no master, me oc very slowpoke one, dumb trial & error method only. saturday is just nice coz still can rest on sunday after d long travel. some more 15th is pay day...

doesn't mind whether it's msi/asus/gigabyte/ecs/jetway, what's important is d spirit of learning, i wish u & bro dblooi (why coolice sifu not around )will teach me a thing or 2 on extreme oc, d last time i witness live extreme oc was wayyyy too long, 4 or 5 years ago mebe...

setapak just nice, i miss d "ban mian" in desa setapak ledi... dunno whether they're still there, they mite be millionaire now...

nope, i can provide 2 rigs. one AMD another Intel. so there will be 2 categories. so end of the day, as usual, bring yourself. but i'm open to suggestions. shoot me!!

sup3rfly: if it's an compy, i don't think bringing your hardware will help. cause we need to maintain fairness. so everyone will be benching the same rig? that's what i can think off only. and it's a open compy. anyone can join. no one is banned! hehe....

plus i dont think i have exp with the HW that will be provided.. so will be hard for me for sure

i think there might be a prob is running simple benchmark..

since everyone is watching, so ppl that have later turn will copy the prev setting (or setting that will yield highest score) so will be advantage for those that last...

u have in mind what bench tool to use sir?

btw im very sure not to participate since i might be able to come only after 2pm..so i will come watch and learn..

kuntawakaw: hehe... that's where the problem arise when it's only a gathering. i do really hope ppl do not mind with the shortcomings. anyway, there's kinda alot of ways to playaround. but this time round we will no do capped speed. and since xixo suggested 3d benching (which is the only suggestion and i'm ok with it) it will not be easy to bench both cpu and vga at the same time. each profiles saved in bios will be deleted once the bencher finished his result in a given time period. of course, i'm open to suggestion. somehow i hope that we 'organize' this together rather than i set all the rules as usual. i would like it to be more 'friendly' this time round.

PS: seems like the response is not as expected. maybe just drop it? lol.

i want to join.
but i from putrajaya no transportation.only have bus,cab or train only.

for 3d bench, ppl will easily memorize the gpu clock(s) since gpu OC is very2 easy..just slide the slider.. if 1 person can make it stable, i think others able to do the same..
for the cpu clock.. i think ppl will easily find the "wall" after few runs.. ppl have just to remember the figure then it will be an advantage.

the time-consuming and hard-to-memorize-the-setting is ram OC.. how about do some mem related bench? i dont think 3dmark influenced alot by slight adjustment of ram? the only thing comes to my mind is superpi lol..
no OS tweaks, fixed time given.. kekeke
