Supersets. That's what I do. Scared to go heavy, might damage the shoulder joint, so I focus more on reps.Bodybuilding Thread v8, Bodybuilding diskussion

QUOTE(E|dan @ Oct 11 2010, 04:21 PM) My superset consists of 12 reps of dumbbell presses, 12 reps of front raises, followed by 12 reps of side raises. Any pro's that can comment on this? Been sticking to this for some time now, just recently change to heavier-weights-less-reps for my dumbbell presses. |

QUOTE(IrNoob95 @ Nov 1 2010, 01:41 AM) Kindly do some research first. (Even if you don't want, at least state your goals etc etc, how should someone advice you when they don't know what your goals are) Take the initiative to Google, and find out more about exercises/workout plans/diet/tips yourself. Folks around here don't appreciate someone waiting to be spoon fed. If you really don't know where to start, try reading some of the stuff here http://www.scoobysworkshop.com/ or http://bodybuilding.com/ or the stickies in the Bodybuilding and Strength Training page. A lot of helpful information there. |

QUOTE(newx @ Nov 4 2010, 05:56 PM) Guys, You don't have to avoid it completely, if you go once a week, its fine. Just treat it as a cheat meal. That being said, I haven't had a roti canai in over a year. Anyway, for drinks, I usually order hot milo, with less sugar. Here is a noob question on drinks. At mamak stall, what do u usually order for drinks? Warm barley <-Not good coz of gluten? Warm tea Iced tea 100 Plus Plain water or should we avoid eating/drinking at mamak stall? UNLESS, you really want to lose weight or have a damn-strict diet (which I don't), then its a different story. You can order hard-boil eggs for food. |

QUOTE(iamyuanwu @ Dec 16 2010, 03:07 AM) For those looking for cheap protein. =) They are? Holy crap. I was just there earlier (GNC One Utama) and the guy didn't mention anything. Luckily I didn't purchase anything though since the credit card system was offline. GNC is having 30% off for its whey proteins this month. E.g. ON 100% Whey 5lbs is about RM174. 10lbs is around RM331 Is the discount for selected outlets only? |

Hey guys, I have a nagging question about calories.
And since Arekey brought it up, think its a good time to ask. QUOTE(arekey @ Dec 28 2010, 11:01 AM) Your high school phys-ed teacher was a bit off when he told you that a ‘calorie is a From what I understand from that post is that, calorie,’ and if you simply eat less than you expend (no matter what you eat) you will lose weight. And if you eat more than you expend (eating whatever you want), you’ll gain weight. As you know, this formula will fail because 2000 calories from pastries, pre-packaged macaroni and cheese, and fast food is completely different from 2000 calories of natural fruit and vegetables, lean cuts of high quality protein and healthy fats. 1) 2000 calories from healthy food is different than 2000 calories from, say, potato chips. 2) That the calories from healthy food will help us gain weight better. 3) Unhealthy foods will not make us gain as much weight. (Why?) Question is, how do I explain to some people why do we have to eat clean while trying to gain weight (not necessarily body builders), when their answers would generally be, "If I want to gain weight, why not eat chips? Its unhealthy as hell, so I should gain the weight, right?". |

QUOTE(arekey @ Dec 28 2010, 03:12 PM) I’m sorry if got you confuse. You got it wrong in No 3. Ah, now I know where I went wrong. Haha! Thanks for the quick reply man. Really cleared things up, and I think I can finally answer those idiots' questions now. What I write is related to gain muscle weight. Unhealthy foods do make us gain weight. To Gain Weight : 1. You must understand energy balance (Energy In vs. Energy Out). 2. You have to eat the right foods at the right times. Here is the easiest way to understand energy balance: Energy Balance = Energy Intake – Energy Expenditure Energy intake encompasses whatever you put in your mouth – food or drink. Energy is made up of several factors including resting metabolic rate (RMR), calorie cost of activity, thermic effect of food (TEF), and adaptive thermogenesis. The balance of intake versus outtake is a critical starting point in weight gain or loss. If you have a SURPLUS of calories (positive energy balance) where the intake EXCEEDS the expenditure, you gain weight. If you have a DEFICIT of calories (negative energy balance) where the intake is LESS than expenditure, you lose weight. Simple enough. Remember, a surplus of calories is ONLY one component of gaining weight! Anybody who tells you that you must simply eat a SURPLUS of calories to gain weight is RIGHT. You will definitely gain weight – a dump load of body fat that is. Let’s say your body needs 2000 calories to grow – don’t think that your body will grow on 2000 calories of chips and cookies just because you are in a SURPLUS. Three thousand calories of junk and empty calories is COMPLETELY different than 2000 calories of high quality carbs, proteins, fats, vitamins and minerals. Anybody who does not understand this does not Understand the theory that a calorie is not a calorie. To summaries, Potato Chips Makes you Gain Fat Weight while healthy Food makes you Gain Muscle Weight. So which one you'll choose? Big-Fat or Big-Muscular?? |

QUOTE(yoshi86 @ Dec 29 2010, 05:24 PM) chest hard to build and tummy also as well. Muscles aren't built IN the gym, its build OUT of it. When you work a body part 4 times a week, you're not giving it enough time to rest, recovery and rebuild. by the way, my abs exercise is just sit up for 80times per workout day. That being said, try working out a body part once or twice a week, giving it plenty of time to recover. |

QUOTE(iamyuanwu @ Dec 29 2010, 08:40 PM) Yes. This is why: That article is eye opening. Lol. http://www.precisionnutrition.com/rr-whey-too-much Whey protein moves too fast through the stomach due to it being in liquid form. Digestive enzyme helps to increase digestion and absorption, psyllium husk help to slow down the speed of which it passes through the gut. Have you seen how crazy psyllium husk can hold water and bulk up like mad? Where do you get psyllium husks? |

Speaking of Ego, I bought my Harbinger lifting straps the other day.
First time using it last week, and the end of the strap stitching came out, called up the store (Subang Parade) and the guy asked me to e-mail customer service, did that, and until now no reply. Kinda disappointed. |

QUOTE(Cloud2322 @ Dec 31 2010, 11:00 PM) Looking sifu to advice me.. Its been said many times before, whether to cut or not, is up to you. Its YOUR body. Look in the mirror, if you want to be slimmer, then do cardio and change your diet accordingly. If you don't want to lose fats, just build muscle. Nothing wrong there too.Should I slim down first before I build my muscles? I'm weight 82.5kg and 17years old. But I have to slim down first ain't? Or not the muscles will built under my fats right? Message me please Happy New Year!! 2011!! |

More muscle = More fats burned. do you guys straight away lift weights? or you guys cardio first, lose body fat then only train weights? But its entirely up to you. Your body. |
