Before you start hacking and stuff, consider: 1) Your budget for the renovation 2) The kind of HT you are going to install 3) The furniture that will go into this HT
You also have to figure out if your HT plans are permanent for example you'll never want to upgrade from 5.1 to 7.1. Even outside light and windows are factors in a HT.
If you're definitely sure about your plans, then find a good installer. If not, get some Taperwire or FlatWire to connect your speakers and hide the wire underneath carpets.

QUOTE(gustoburger @ Oct 10 2010, 02:31 PM) rough diagrame of my hall. ... what do u guys think? DIY job for now. It's not a big space. You can use cable tube for the rear channel cables as well as the fronts. You can use regular cables (Jalan Pasar's RM2-a-meter cable) or for that flushed look get TaperWire/FlatWire (somewhat expensive - import yourself). The rest of the components are easy. Because of the closed-in room, you don't want to put the sub in either corner where the TV cabinet is. Put it at the corner where the two sofas meet. fuad
