BB experts, im just wondering:

1. Can I buy officially unlocked BB phones in Canada?
2. Will they be 100% compatible for use in Malaysia?
3. BB warranty worldwide?

1. Yes you can..
2. No network not compatible if it is a Telco Set.. Unless it is an unlocked set..
3. BlackBerry only warranty by Telco and AP company not worldwide..

Im also planning to get a 9780 for USA is USD499, still figuring it out..

Yes, I mean if it is an officially unlocked set then there won't be any problems with communication and functionality when used in Msia rite?

I've got an aunt in Canada who could purchase for me.. I just need to make sure it is 100% compatible to be used here.. The warranty part would be a slight issue for me though considering you just told me that it is not worldwide warranty..

If it is officially unlocked then you can used it worldwide.. Part or replacement not difficult to find in Malaysia, just that you dont have manufacture or shops warranty.. BTW are you getting 9780??

9780 is way better choice then 9800. What a beauty. The best part they improved on the processor and camera. Im glad OS6 is already on the bold series.

Ill just share my experience using the 9800 for 2 hours. First impression was, "this is not a BlackBerry".

I felt like i was using a BlackBerry + iPhone with the touch effects. The whole OS is revamped. It literally took me 30 minutes to get use to it. The touch screen was sometimes laggy. Not as sensitive as the iPhone i would say. It sometimes doesnt register an input from the touch screen. I realise another thing. Once u have touch screen BB, the optocal trackpad was hardly used.

Also tested the keypad. Sliding i out was smooth and the keypad was nicely hid behind the screen. The keypad worked flawlessly. Only thing is that, the phone becomes extremely bulky once they keypad is pull out.

BIS connection on Maxis was great. For 2 hours solid, I was on 3G connection and didnt disconnect from the BIS network. The BB logo was there all the while me using the phone.

I prefer more rigid and compact phones with minimum moving parts. Personally the 9800 is awesome but its not meant for me. Price tag : RM2300 (AT&T) unlocked set is abit of a rip off.

My 2cent short review.
