QUOTE(led_zep_freak @ Oct 13 2012, 09:57 AM) FM2's a mechanical camera so you don't need a battery to operate it. However, you need one for the internal lightmeter to work. Added on October 13, 2012, 10:19 amSpeaking of FM2... I brought it to my recent trip along with the AI 24mm f/2.8, here are some shots: » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « nice result

jun roong: 6006 seemed to be exactly like a digital slr... personal view, there's no reason for me to use it also note that without battery this cam can't operate at all. the point of using manual slr is to slow down, get the feel of manual focusing, self decisioning on whether or not to follow the metering from camera, or plus minus ourself. I believe all of us here uses/used expired films before. no big deal on using expired films. quality of the film depend on how it's been stored. most ppl who wants a great quality expired films will store the films in freezer. those kept under normal conditions and expired more than 3years will find bigger grains (aka noise in digital), less contrasity etc. if u want to know more, just shoot and find out yourself. sometimes, it's no fun listen too much what others say

True true. The exact reason i choose FM instead of more modern slr. Everything manual so really have to slowdown and focus for every shot

When getting photos to print, is there a difference using the scanned digital copy or the negatives itself?

big difference. negatives itself can maintain the quality whereas scanned digital copy will loss quality somehow.

Don't think there's discount, but just pay full price lar. It's not that expensive and we need to keep his business alive.
