Been using Mr.Ng in SS2 for many years, His work is very good and clean. Nowadays due to the low volume the cost has gone up and sometimes it takes over 2 weeks to process my 4x5.

Haven't tried Esix lab as its too far for me.

Nowadays I develop my own E6, more out of convenience and being able to see the results of my work as soon as I come back all excited from my shoot.

I didnt have the chance to try out mr. ng's process. I went there last week and he told me he has decided to stop the esix process altogether. I tried his service during the QLab time (circa 1997)

On the other hand, ESIX have their problems when it comes to processing the films. But then again in today's age, it is almost impossible to get a QLab quality process anymore

I've not been to Mr.Ng for a while, it is quite possible that he's stopped E6 as the commercial chemicals are difficult to obtained since Kodak decided to discontinue many film products.

To ensure quality, I develop my own E6. Works out cheaper, faster and more satisfying.

can someone help advise on whether to get a ND filter or a cpl first? (does a cpl even "work properly" on a film camera?) I understand that both are somewhat similar with the CPL being more... useful(?)

I'm using a Nikon FM10 with the standard 35-70mm lens.
*
What makes you think that CPL do not work properly with film camera?

The reason why it is so grainy is because of exposure. Underexpose to be exact

anybody know where can I process E6 nearby PJ area? Other than fotosun SS2, they don't provide film slip, just roll it and put in paper bag. If there's any alternative shop I would not want to go fotosun.

uptown color dot com is good, but they don't develop E6... sad.gif

Hi asker_Icy, the shop I went is an old camera shop called "Kedai Gamber Yew Yee" at Taman Maluri. I use 2 lens interchangeably:
1. 50mm F2.0
2. 135mm F2.8
Both seems to have same problem. Worse still, most of the photos taken with 50mm cannot be developed. I tried to look through the lens and there is no yellowish tint, it's crystal clear. Not sure if the skylight filter is the cause of that since I put the skylight filter on the 135mm lens.

I'm only using the light meter in the camera. However, I dunno how accurate it is. It's either show correct exposure, overexpose or underexpose lights (blinking if shutter speed is too low). As for the vertical lines problem, it is due to the scanner problem in my office. However, the color of the photo is as bad as the scanning. sad.gif

1. The hibiscus is taken in broad daylight. I have no idea why it is that dark. This is using 50mm F2.0
2. This photo taken in the same place as the mascot. Also very yellowish. sad.gif

All 3 images you posted here are under exposed. Check your light meter for accuracy. You might want to get another camera and meter on the same scene to see whether this camera of yours is accurate or not.

The yellow tone is caused by tungsten light

It looks like 1 to 2 stops underexpose. Like what Ringgo said, the shutter speed might be off. Might want to send in for a CLA (clean lube and adjust) to get everything right.

What camera is it again?
