I'm using an acoustic set at home. but to jaga my neihgbours' privacy, I only play them during office hours (10am-4pm on weekdays) and no drums on weekends. It's been almost 6 years already, didn't receive any complaints yet.
anyone has tried any Cadeson drum kits before? I've tried the Lewis Pragasam's signature kit (Glaze series) and their Stadium series before. The Lewis Pragasam's kit is actually the original kit used by him, he left it at TGS Hartamas for a while. His acrylic set is a monster man, very big. Got tone and very punchy, I can say that it is worth buying( RM10K plus). The stadium series (RM3.8K) is quite nice also. The kit's resonance is fantastic. anyone? |

QUOTE(fifi85 @ Oct 9 2010, 10:06 PM) i c.. that an advanatge of being student. better play as much as u can next time work cant get this privilege anymore hahaha..that's why laa.. need to practise a lot now before my college years are over. QUOTE(brokenbomb @ Oct 10 2010, 07:30 AM) IEM. a real life saver. Owh no lah.. I'm currently doing my bachelor degree in engineering at one "private local uni" (Just to remain anonymous, hahaha)just like the regular monitor that they put up in the stage, except its in ear. lol zul.z - where u study at? music college too? for me. im playing from 5-8. makan dinner time. and most of it i just practicing grooves, x bising sgt. haha. and from there onwards, is all on practice pad. 10-12. 1 hour for hand, 1 hour for feet. but im still sucks at it. haha edit : http://www.mudah.my/YAMAHA+PHOENIX+DRUM+KI...OOD-7350547.htm yamah PHX selling for rm12k? cheap oh. haha. i tot this beast would sell for like rm20k++ Not studying music, I only have Rockschool certs in drums and currently working as a part-time drum instructor at one "local music store" (To remain anonymous also, hahaha!) Btw, just got back from Bentley and JS music. Tried the Ddrum at JS. I was surprised by the price, very reasonable and affordable. Shawn Drover's snare drum is around RM800 plus and Vinnie Paul's Signature around RM1.1K-Rm1.2k. I've tried the Ddrum Duo Maple kit (RM4.5K), the resonance is quite nice. Will put that kit in my wishlist. hehehe. Went to Bentley to check out the price for the speed cobra. Double pedal is RM1.6K and single pedal is RM750. asked the sales assistant, he said there's no much different between speed cobra and iron cobra, just that for the speed cobra, the board is longer than iron cobra thus the feel is a bit different. QUOTE(brokenbomb @ Oct 10 2010, 02:39 PM) isaac - ah? damn. haha. one of my favourite drums tu. Specialities? Their kits and drum triggers I guess. Yeap, I heard about that before, there are a lot of issues regarding the quality of their drums last time but maybe they have improved now. But their artistes are very well known, carmine appice, dave lombardo, vinnie paul, shawn drover, etc. btw anything special about ddrum? snare kah hardware ka. haha. aside from their dios series of course. since well. they kan popular with QC issue. hehe. rosak here and there la. franklooi96: No, but I'm planning to switch to Guitar Collection OU later this year (it depends on the availability). The place where I'm teaching now is in Hartamas, a bit far from my house. This post has been edited by zul.z: Oct 10 2010, 07:47 PM |

QUOTE(fifi85 @ Oct 10 2010, 07:47 PM) Well, I only teach beginners (still new). So the fee is around RM100-RM130, once a week, 30minutes per class. A bit expensive huh? hahaha..But I also teach at my friend's studio, RM80 for beginners and RM90 for Intermediate. 45 minutes per class.QUOTE(franklooi96 @ Oct 11 2010, 12:25 AM) So you graduated Rockschool under Guitar Collection also? No, I was a TGS student before. What do you personally think about their syllabus? hahaha, don't ask me that question laa, you're asking me like I'm a pro only, I'm still new laa. hahaha. But for me, the syllabus are good but you need to know how to apply it on your drums. For example, the triplet, in the book you need to do it on the snare, but you can also try it on the toms or hi-hats. Eg, 1 (bass drum)-2 (tom) - 3 (tom) or 1 (hi-hat) -2 (hi-hat) -3 (snare). QUOTE(fifi85 @ Oct 11 2010, 11:16 AM) hahaha, ya laa..that's why I don't really encourage people to take any music lessons at music shop or centre, quite expensive. Better take private lesson, much cheaper. Unless you want to take exams, then go to music shop or centre laa. easier, because most of them (like TGS) they have their own place to conduct the exams. This post has been edited by zul.z: Oct 11 2010, 11:20 AM |

QUOTE(kari_convention @ Oct 11 2010, 08:35 PM) never tried Cadeson kit before but I love to try one. I've watched LP played in a concert and at that time he is using his signature snare. Sounds awesome. Owh yea, there's a recording studio in PJ (Big A Productions) who also have Cadeson kit available for recording. Excuse me bro, what do you mean by "unexperienced teacher can charge for that kind of money "? it's not me who set the price for the fee. it's the management of the music school who set it. And do you know how much i get from the fee? You'll be surprised by the little amount that i get from each student (and this is why all the experienced instructors cabut lari and do private lessons). So don't blame me. And that's why I told fifi85 to find a private instructor rather then going to a music centre or shop.Third highest poster? Wow! Added on October 11, 2010, 8:45 pm its funny and quite depressing when an unexperienced teacher can charge for that kind of money for 30 minutes, once a week. I still remember my drum teacher who only charge RM100 for 1 hour a week (sometimes 1hour 30mins). and he was a 8th grader and have alot of experience. QUOTE(isaacmiranda7 @ Oct 12 2010, 12:38 PM) The SQ2 is a custom set, maybe this guys used the cheapest options for everything? I guess this guy is not from Malaysia, and maybe he wanted to put the price in USD or other currencies but since Mudah is a Malaysian site, the price will automatically be in RM. Hahahaha...But then again, it does seem a bit too low. It's Sonor's top of the range set. I remember checking it out, and they quoted me about US$1000 for a 13' snare, so I doubt this is the real thing. But if it is.... xD WHERE IS THIS SHOP ANYWAY? Check this out, http://www.songnetworks.org/sonor-sq2-vint...irds-eye-maple/ or maybe its a scam, coz I still remember last time when I posted my stuff on Mudah, there are few foreigners offering to buy my stuff in USD. The weird think is, I received the same email from different people. This post has been edited by zul.z: Oct 12 2010, 07:29 PM |

New discovery:
http://cgi.ebay.com/YAMAHA-PHOENIX-DRUM-KI...DefaultDomain_0 The same pictures used by the seller on mudah linked by Brokenbomb earlier. even on ebay, the price is $8250.00 If it is really a scam, maybe this guy just took the pictures randomly on the webs, and post it on Mudah, and wait for people to reply. Later, will ask the buyer to bank in 5%-10% deposit, and buhbye! |

QUOTE(isaacmiranda7 @ Oct 20 2010, 07:15 PM) One of most drum companies requirements is that you play their gear before you ask them for endorsements. Because then they know that you really do use their gear, like would you still play their drums even if you were not endorsed? Say your dream drums are Yamaha but you are endorsed by Pearl, halfway through would you switch? it is not nessecary that you have to use their drum kit before you get endorsed by that brand. I've never seen Imran of One Buck Short using Cadeson kit before, but now he's one of Cadeson Endorsee. How about Yuna and Godin? Before she was using other brands, but suddenly got endorsed by Godin. In Malaysia, one of the way to get endorsed is to be known by the local music shop. This is what The Guitar Store did, they find some well known and good Malaysian artistes, and they will send a proposal to the company for endorsement (eg: cadeson, godin, etc) Just because you're able to get endorsements doesn't mean you should. Are you willing to not play other brands? If their people see you playing other brands you can get sued. Like here you say you want to play Fidock. It means that you have to be loyal to them. You CANNOT let other people see you playing other brands, especially live, no pictures, no nothing. Endorsements do not mean free gear, but you usually get dealer's prices. The bigger companies usually require you to be playing live often, have songs going over the radio and etc. Certain companies have three tier sponsorship levels. You could try checking them out. Many signed drummers are not even endorsed. Your hit 1000 times and hit 1 million times is the quality of the head, not the snare Anyway, different snares give you different sounds, better snares give you better sounds and it doesn't mean that you cannot take live pictures when you're playing using other brands, what you need to do is to cover the brand of the kit. This is what Ainol of Deja Voodoo Spells always do, he'll make sure that the brand is covered (if it's not Tama) before he's playing. Last time, when Bledding Through's Derek Youngsma was here, the organizer gave him a yamaha kit, and he did the same thing, cover the brand. Rudy of Pop Shuvit got endorsed by Yamaha, but sometimes uses other brands. what i can say is, It's a bit different in Malaysia Added on October 20, 2010, 10:19 pm QUOTE(treflip @ Oct 19 2010, 08:37 PM) anyone here knows how to get drum endorsements? interested in the fidock drums http://fidockdrums.com/about.htm or any brands...may be a music shop would like to endorse...can also endorse my whole band.... hehehehe... ps...im new to this thread but have been a drummer for quite a while...and currently playing for Stonebay and Freeloaders Inc... QUOTE(treflip @ Oct 19 2010, 08:50 PM) like my personal friend is on the verge of getting an endorsement by cadeson...hopefully after roslan aziz sign us it is possible to get endorsement but besides that just looking for an alternative hehehehe... Hi dude.. nice to know you.stonebay is like one of my favourite local band.. btw, it'll be easy for you to find an endorsement laa bro, your "si murai penipu" is already on the radio what..hahahaanyways..anyone here has a pearl reference perhaps a 13x6.5 or 14x6.5 that they wanna let go? heheh This post has been edited by zul.z: Oct 20 2010, 10:21 PM |

wow, it's been awhile since my last post here. Been busy lately, exams and stuff.
Isaac: Yeah man, the pearl steel piccolo is the best chepeast snare drum ever (replying to your older post, hehe). Maybe we should create a "Pearl Steel Piccolo" owner's club? hahaha. btw, my friend's studio has a 5 piece Pearl Export kit, but the rental is a bit higher than Rhythmix lah, its around RM300-Rm400 per day. Is this for the charity concert? btw, I've been using Evans Reversed Power Centre skin on my snares. I prefer evans than Remo coz I realised that Evans last longer than Remo. |

QUOTE(brokenbomb @ Feb 24 2011, 02:28 PM) I bought the cymbal in 2006 from JS music last time. I really love the cymbal, very bright and trashy. Worth the price dude. You should get it if you're looking for that kind of sound.QUOTE(treflip @ Feb 24 2011, 03:23 PM) Yeah, he has it. But I was looking for something that is very loud and sensitive, thats why I use the masterworks.QUOTE(isaacmiranda7 @ Feb 24 2011, 06:35 PM) Is it possible for you to get the Clear Piglite (6x14") snare?Btw guys, what do you think of Cadeson drums? Is it worth the money to buy them? Coz right now, I'm looking for an acrylic snare and they have one, the Lewis Pragasam signature snare. The reason why I'm considering of getting the snare is because I have the 20% discount voucher from the guitar store. modern drummer gave the kit (Lewis Pragasam Glaze series signature kit) a very good review. So yeah, anyone? |
