I'm in!

I'm using an acoustic set at home. but to jaga my neihgbours' privacy, I only play them during office hours (10am-4pm on weekdays) and no drums on weekends. It's been almost 6 years already, didn't receive any complaints yet.

anyone has tried any Cadeson drum kits before?
I've tried the Lewis Pragasam's signature kit (Glaze series) and their Stadium series before. The Lewis Pragasam's kit is actually the original kit used by him, he left it at TGS Hartamas for a while. His acrylic set is a monster man, very big. Got tone and very punchy, I can say that it is worth buying( RM10K plus). The stadium series (RM3.8K) is quite nice also. The kit's resonance is fantastic. anyone?

Owh no lah.. I'm currently doing my bachelor degree in engineering at one "private local uni" (Just to remain anonymous, hahaha)
Not studying music, I only have Rockschool certs in drums and currently working as a part-time drum instructor at one "local music store" (To remain anonymous also,hahaha!)

Btw, just got back from Bentley and JS music. Tried the Ddrum at JS. I was surprised by the price, very reasonable and affordable. Shawn Drover's snare drum is around RM800 plus and Vinnie Paul's Signature around RM1.1K-Rm1.2k. I've tried the Ddrum Duo Maple kit (RM4.5K), the resonance is quite nice. Will put that kit in my wishlist. hehehe.

Went to Bentley to check out the price for the speed cobra. Double pedal is RM1.6K and single pedal is RM750. asked the sales assistant, he said there's no much different between speed cobra and iron cobra, just that for the speed cobra, the board is longer than iron cobra thus the feel is a bit different.

Specialities? Their kits and drum triggers I guess. Yeap, I heard about that before, there are a lot of issues regarding the quality of their drums last time but maybe they have improved now. But their artistes are very well known, carmine appice, dave lombardo, vinnie paul, shawn drover, etc.

franklooi96: No, but I'm planning to switch to Guitar Collection OU later this year (it depends on the availability). The place where I'm teaching now is in Hartamas, a bit far from my house.

Well, I only teach beginners (still new). So the fee is around RM100-RM130, once a week, 30minutes per class. A bit expensive huh? hahaha..But I also teach at my friend's studio, RM80 for beginners and RM90 for Intermediate. 45 minutes per class.

hahaha, don't ask me that question laa, you're asking me like I'm a pro only, I'm still new laa. hahaha. But for me, the syllabus are good but you need to know how to apply it on your drums. For example, the triplet, in the book you need to do it on the snare, but you can also try it on the toms or hi-hats. Eg, 1 (bass drum)-2 (tom) - 3 (tom) or 1 (hi-hat) -2 (hi-hat) -3 (snare).

hahaha, ya laa..that's why I don't really encourage people to take any music lessons at music shop or centre, quite expensive. Better take private lesson, much cheaper. Unless you want to take exams, then go to music shop or centre laa. easier, because most of them (like TGS) they have their own place to conduct the exams.

Excuse me bro,what do you mean by "unexperienced teacher can charge for that kind of money "? it's not me who set the price for the fee. it's the management of the music school who set it. And do you know how much i get from the fee? You'll be surprised by the little amount that i get from each student (and this is why all the experienced instructors cabut lari and do private lessons). So don't blame me. And that's why I told fifi85 to find a private instructor rather then going to a music centre or shop.

yeap, I already asked one of the staff there, and he told me that they are short of instructors. That's why I'm planning to switch there, but have to wait first, coz I need to give a 2 months notice before I quit.

I guess this guy is not from Malaysia, and maybe he wanted to put the price in USD or other currencies but since Mudah is a Malaysian site, the price will automatically be in RM. Hahahaha...

it is not nessecary that you have to use their drum kit before you get endorsed by that brand. I've never seen Imran of One Buck Short using Cadeson kit before, but now he's one of Cadeson Endorsee. How about Yuna and Godin? Before she was using other brands, but suddenly got endorsed by Godin. In Malaysia, one of the way to get endorsed is to be known by the local music shop. This is what The Guitar Store did, they find some well known and good Malaysian artistes, and they will send a proposal to the company for endorsement (eg: cadeson, godin,etc)

and it doesn't mean that you cannot take live pictures when you're playing using other brands, what you need to do is to cover the brand of the kit. This is what Ainol of Deja Voodoo Spells always do, he'll make sure that the brand is covered (if it's not Tama) before he's playing. Last time, when Bledding Through's Derek Youngsma was here, the organizer gave him a yamaha kit, and he did the same thing, cover the brand. Rudy of Pop Shuvit got endorsed by Yamaha, but sometimes uses other brands.

wow, it's been awhile since my last post here. Been busy lately, exams and stuff.

Isaac: Yeah man, the pearl steel piccolo is the best chepeast snare drum ever (replying to your older post, hehe). Maybe we should create a "Pearl Steel Piccolo" owner's club? hahaha.

btw, my friend's studio has a 5 piece Pearl Export kit, but the rental is a bit higher than Rhythmix lah, its around RM300-Rm400 per day. Is this for the charity concert?

btw, I've been using Evans Reversed Power Centre skin on my snares. I prefer evans than Remo coz I realised that Evans last longer than Remo.

for silken, if not mistaken, you can get them at Harmony Music ss2, but not many left.
btw, J Cymbal is not bad also. I have a J Cymbal Diamond 6.5" bell. Very nice sounding. Well I'm not surprised coz it's actually made by wuhan pun.

I bought the cymbal in 2006 from JS music last time. I really love the cymbal, very bright and trashy. Worth the price dude. You should get it if you're looking for that kind of sound.

Yeah, he has it. But I was looking for something that is very loud and sensitive, thats why I use the masterworks.

Is it possible for you to get the Clear Piglite (6x14") snare?


Btw guys, what do you think of Cadeson drums? Is it worth the money to buy them? Coz right now, I'm looking for an acrylic snare and they have one, the Lewis Pragasam signature snare. The reason why I'm considering of getting the snare is because I have the 20% discount voucher from the guitar store. modern drummer gave the kit (Lewis Pragasam Glaze series signature kit) a very good review. So yeah, anyone?

Im not really sure about the price. But last time when I check for the 7x13" amber piglite, its around RM1.4K if I'm not mistaken. How much is your price for this snare then?
