I don't think we do mate smile.gif I've used Sonor at several gigs before though. You've switched to Sonor now?
*
Nop but I plan to switch to one acoustic set one day with budget of course. I head Sonor is best for its price range and the wood used are good esp the Force 3007 studio and Jungle set. Never tested one before though.

Hmm... Its personal preference, honestly. The retail price is RM4890 with hardware for the Studio and the Stage. I could get it for you around RM4000 only. The Jungle set, is a bass drum, a tom and a floor tom, no skins no hardware for RM3000 retail, PM me for a special price wink.gif

Both the Sonor drums I've played (3007 and Extreme Force), among other Sonor snares and such, have sounded great, and yes, for the price, they are extremely worth it. A great low-end, and great projection.

However, if you had about RM5000 to spend, I could get you the Yamaha Stage Custom (RM6199 retail), which is, in my opinion, much better than any Sonor within the RM8k price limit and any Yamaha drummer would certainly concur.

It is a professional drumset, and is, by all standards, much better than the Sonor, in terms of reliability, hardware, etc.

The Sonor hardware is a bit dodgy here and there in my opinion.

Do check out the Ludwig Epic, only RM4000 retail, but in my humble opinion, also better than the Sonor F3007.

Don't get me wrong, the Sonor is a brilliant drumset, there's one in my church, and it's a great option, a very versatile option in fact, for drummers.
Welcome to the Drummer's Paradise. Do tell us about yourself smile.gif

Wow I never knew you're a dealer too laugh.gif And i never really check any of those prices but seeing at the retail price and your selling price, its seems a fair deal. RM5000 is big thing to fund yet. Rm2-3k would be great though.

I'll see about the Ludwig. Not that familiar with that brand. I'll go for the superstar instead of the vision.

thnx guys really appreciate the feedbacks smile.gif
btw i;ve actually follow a friend down to KL today , he came down to see some customers so i tagged along to check out and test afew pieces of drumset at jalan imbi, i've tested sonor force 3007, Pdp M5, Ddrum Duo(cant remember lol) but havent get to try Pearl vision, i saw u guys talk about Ludwig Epic, now im really confused which one should i get. the Ddrum and Pdp have good offer , comes with hardware etc and some gifts like cowbells lol...i just know i should get Maple wood for low and mid tone as i play more rock songs.
More exactly my budget for the drumset is about 3.5-4k (without cymbals) , 5 pieces set, color preference is Black or Silver, Sound preference is Medium and low.
And i would really like to know is it not every drumset comes with hardwares??
any suggestion for a budget like tht? total i have about 5k to spend only for the drumset.
sry if i ask too much as once, but i really like to get one set as soon as possible T,T
thnx alot guys!! smile.gif cheers!

Ok so what I've been hearing around is true bout the bass. The kick, the "boom" is not that. Well, its compact series. Easy to move around. Only thing is its 9 ply maple wood.

I think i'll go for Pearl based on that budget. Yamaha drums are better if they are the higher ends one, IMO. russellhere, why don't check out the Tama Imprealistar? That one is good too.

The Pearl Exports are pretty decent I'd say. Up to the end of the production line about a couple years back, they were the world's best selling drums smile.gif
Actually, I believe from the midrange they're already pretty alright smile.gif Stage Custom biggrin.gif

The Tama Imperialstar is alright for a starting set, as long as you change your heads.
*
Yeah, the head should be changed.

Well, maybe the low range ones are not made for heavy people. But for people as light as me, won't be a problem laugh.gif Thinking bout the pork pie's throne, its so funky. Beauty in a way.

For me, I'll buy a porkpie's snare to replace any set snares.

Woah nice choice you have there smile.gif I love marching snares, like the sound of pork pies. You can just a do a drag handwork and it'll sound like raining.

I see. I thought of trading in my Roland Hd 1 to an acoustic set. Eventhough, I feel hard to let it go. But it depends. I'm not all that sure too.

It looks real to me. My Stage hats have the same texture and all. Still, every cymbal sounds different. Don't just go and grab it cause its HHX.

Go and play it smile.gif Bring a stick along, ride the bell for a while.
yes, I do smile.gif And you can call me Isaac. xD
*
Wow great laugh.gif Do you have any page where I can look into? I'm looking for basically a Latin Percussions one

AhBoy, if I'm not mistaken, that ride pop out after the previous Yamaha sale. We've previously discussed fake cymbals and most of us here is yet to see one.

Anyone interested of buying a black mixed 7 piece entry level kit? Might open up a sales thread soon, just letting you guys know in case anyone here is interested.

I might be, more info would help perhaps.

Hey guys, I'm planning to get a drum set for myself now. I feel bored using an e-kit so I wanna get an acoustic one blush.gif .

My price range is actually rm3.2k-3.5k (without cymbals and throne). Was interested in Tama superstar but called C&M music in JB and they gave an idea about the Ludwig Element PVC Series, which is just rm 2420. Thinking bout that, perhaps, I could spend more on cymbals and stuff. So what do you guys think about that Ludwig drums? I want something that would give a good sound. Its 6 pieces by the way. Compare this with the Tama imperialstar.

Thanks biggrin.gif
