QUOTE(KTCY @ Oct 30 2010, 05:12 AM) No offense, isn't that's what Lomography is all about? “Don't Think, Just Shoot”?From wiki: "Lomography emphasizes casual, snapshot photography. Characteristics such as over-saturated colors, off-kilter exposure, blurring, "happy accidents," and alternative film processing are often considered part of the "Lomographic Technique."[citation needed] Users are encouraged to take a lighthearted approach to their photography, and use these techniques to document everyday life, as the Lomo LC-A's small size, simple controls, and ability to shoot in low light encourages candid photography, photo reportage, and photo vérité through the much-touted "10 Golden Rules."[2]" http://www.lomography.com/about/the-ten-golden-rules |

With the advent of super high tech camera bodies, lenses and software that can eliminate distorted, blurring and wrong exposure, all pictures now become nice, sharp and with loads of contrast!
People tends to forgot you can take a blurry, distorted pictures that can still tell a story... Taking blurry pictures with a "toy camera" that can tell an inspiring story is NOT easy at all... ![]() ![]() |

QUOTE(valho @ Oct 30 2010, 11:47 AM) Sometimes people forget the photography is all about telling a story through photos and not about the sharpness, bokeh, contrast, etc Welcome to pixel peeper anonymous group!I admit sometimes I look too much into the sharpness, color, etc that I forgot about the story part Ya, it is almost like taking photo for the local newspaper... Artistically = 0... This post has been edited by ianthow: Oct 30 2010, 11:54 AM |

QUOTE(ckdenion @ Nov 4 2010, 09:14 AM) hmm... Haha! Actually think of it, every question that was asked here might have been asked and answered somewhere else, the world is big!mayb not all ppl used to google i guess... las time i nvr thought of google also when i gt ques to ask...now getting use to it already n using it quite often Nowadays, the simplest answer to any question is "use Google", so if everything and anything can be found on Google, why do we need a forum then? To be precise why do we need yet another Canon forum, I bet there are thousands of it out there... |

@deodorant
I agree but I also think that we should emulate those bigger photography related forum where no question is too simple or too stupid to ask. We are here after all to share our thoughts and knowledge, it is only thru these kind of sharing our Malaysian photography community will grow larger. If one wants to help then just help please refrain from chiding people or calling people ignorant. We all started as a newbie some point in time, to chide a newbie will only drive them away. No body wins and everyone loses... A simple link to wiki or google to an answer will be suffice... My RM0.02... |

QUOTE(Redcross @ Nov 4 2010, 12:33 PM) a forum here is to share the tips and techniques and also discuss about the usage of the lens/bodies features etc. FYI, tips, techniques, lenses, bodies features are discussed to death at dpreview... share the pics here for criticism to get feedbacks and learn. those specs, crop, FF or what eva jargons are easily can be googled in the net as those are usual answers that can be found online Added on November 4, 2010, 12:40 pm QUOTE(ckdenion @ Nov 4 2010, 12:27 PM) d thing is not about googling info up or not I appreciate constructive answers... i tink d significance is whether u r willing to learn in forums or not since u post up a ques here no matter ppl answer u in wad way...i believe if u r willing to learn...tats better and appreciate ppl's answer even though it may sounds harshy sometimes... i appreciate those who helped me here... cheerz~ This post has been edited by ianthow: Nov 4 2010, 12:40 PM |

QUOTE(xLegato @ Nov 4 2010, 01:06 PM) Perhaps I should show you how blatantly exasperating it is when you get questions posted on a forum which answers you can find from Google in less than the time it takes you to structure a post just because the asker's simply too lazy. And when he doesn't get a response because the answer is indeed simply too obvious if he would make an honest, SMALL effort to look, he starts whining and crying because obviously, the world revolves around him! If the question is exasperating or blatantly waste of time to answer, you can choose to ignore it. I do that all the time.I'd go make a new account and post questions such as "hey guys how many megapixels does a 550D have?" "hi guys does the 5D2 have a flash?" or "hi guys what is a tripod?" in random threads just to illustrate to you what I intend to impart, but I have better things to do with my time. You can't define whether a question is stupid or simple because it's not something objective, but there are times when the consensus is something being asked is downright foolish and something you can obtain straight out of a search engine. Being able to differentiate between the two aforementioned isn't even an acquired skill, so please. I know I sure started a newbie, but what I did was read and research for myself before posting what I can easily find elsewhere. I'd think that's the ideal way one should go about doing things. You hurt? Should you choose to help even just provide him with a link will be suffice. As it is, noone (you, him and everyone else here) gained anything if he was chided, hope you can understand. I agree, not everyone going to be sweet but it doesn't mean we can't be one our self... Should we fight nasty with nasty? Thanks. This post has been edited by ianthow: Nov 4 2010, 01:24 PM |

@xLegato
Unless you know him well, it is only your assumptions that he will continue to require to be spoonfed. Guilty until proven innocent or innocent until proven guilty? The choice is yours... Noone exerts anything on you but it is truly sad to hear someone who loves photography but look at the world as evil and black... Yes, you can sit back and watch the world burn... Thank you. |
