I have a question regarding laptop i want to buy, now im considering between a few brands with similar specs so i want to compare the warranty.
Asus-Their 2 years international warranty is carry in or on site, im actually based in east malaysia so does anyone have experience claiming warranty here?

acer-i wanna know is on site or carry in too, and how many years warranty, and how much does it cost to extend 3 years?

compaq-just sold off mine, they use to have next day onsite and extended to 3 years care pack onsite from rm 250, is it still the same now?

lenovo-i couldn't find any info, mind to share and also warranty claiming in east malaysia

dell- yes i know they do onsite, do they have east malaysia on site or have to send to pg. and how much extend to 3 years onsite

east malaysia sabah or sarawak? theres a difference in service for both.

Ok guys, this will be related a little to the PC and also the notebook so hope you guys can help.

My PC just died on me recently, and at the current moment has receive the green light to replace my dead PC. It is hard however to decide on which to get, a PC or a laptop. This is because I'll be going overseas to study soon. If I get a laptop, it might slow down by the time I go ( 2012 ) and my bro will not have a PC to play his games or use. If I get a PC, I still have to get a laptop when I need one later.

The laptop will be used for video watching, a little games and also assignments and video conferencing once overseas. Preferably no netbook. Recommendations?

Hope all can answer both quesstions, Thx

i think 2012 is definitely quite a long way to go...so i reckon get a pc now maybe around 1k+ cause it can be easily upgraded anytime then get a laptop later so ur bro can have the pc. also the specs will greatly change then so u can probably get a laptop next time dats 1k+ which im sure is good enough by then. maybe i5 brows.gif so what u spend on for both later on will probably be equivalent to what u spend now on a laptop. cause u might need to get a better laptop now to last u that long. just my opinion.

When will these processors be launched? 1st quarter next year? Can't wait  drool.gif  drool.gif
Finally some powerful yet power conserving laptops

It better be released quarter of next year xD but i would expect it to be released slower for laptops as i only read about launches for desktops. New processors on laptops costs a bundle as well and model releases using new processors are slow, mostly starting off as high end models. Well i hope sandy bridge turns out to be a huge shift that it would be released in a faster pace.
