Looking for lite gaming laptop (dota), prefer Asus, budget Rm2-2.5k, with dedicated gc. Now using Compaq with ATi gc, AMD processor, keep hang screen, tulan already...

I never buy the AMD powered computers. It seems to become laggy after using it after a few years like that.

Anyone have any idea what caused this?
*
Haha, i all along support AMD, never use intel before. Think this time will break "virgin" liao. Starting my lappy is ok, super fast. But used 2 years, start lag. Think the fans inside full of dust, cause overheat?

That range better get Acer 4820TG or Dell Inspiron 15r, Asus will have relatively lower specs in that price range.
Never tried one too. hmm.gif
hmm.gif Try cleaning the fan and remove the heatsink?
*
I wont buy acer for sure, Dell will consider, but for play dota, low specs also ok right? I dont know how to take off the fan and clean it, might send to service center take a look since got 3 yrs warranty... hmm.gif

If only Dota, of course low specs GPU is sufficient.
Even my 4 year old Toshiba with ancient GPU can handle it smoothly.
Since the warranty haven't expire, better use it at the moment and wait for Sandy Bridge next year if u want to get a new laptop.

Yea lo, feel shame on my lappy... Im from east msia, work at SG, not sure abt Sandy bridge. I missed 1 Asus lappy offer on last month IT show at SG, quite regret...

If you are really very familiar with your laptop, you can try to clean the heat sink and its fan.
Always remember that it is easy to disassemble, but difficult assemble back for people like us.
I like dell because of its on site warranty services only.
*
I also noob at assemble la, especially on laptop or pc... doh.gif

Asus normally 2 years only by default.. The whole world also the same.. 3years might be free extension during promotion?
*

2 years international warranty for Asus all over the world...

Where did you see 3 years? like i said might it be a promotion or something? you can pay the extra 1 year warranty but it only applies to local distributed Asus laptops..
*
Oh i see, thanks for the info. What i mean the 3 years warranty is in SG, sorry for any misunderstanding...

i7 is not energy savings lol.. since it has 4 cores, this processor will use more power compare to dual cores processor..
If u a gamer..better get i5, coz most games only use 2 cores except for GTA4..GTA4 use 4 cores.. smile.gif

Mostly play dota only, so i think i3 or i5 with dedicated gc will do. Nvidia GeForce 310M is consider normal gc for laptop?

For Dell Inspiron 15R, the specs i saw online in SG and Msia is about the same, just the gc model is different.

Msia = ATI HD550v(1024MB)
SG = ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 5650 - 1GB

Which 1 is better? Of cause the price in SG will slightly exp, about Rm2880 compare with Msia, Rm2499...
