can you recommend me a laptop, with a budget of less than RM2k, i thinking whether to go for 13" or 14". i have a 15.4" and it seems pretty big for me.

it's actually for my dad. just normal office work. maybe some light multimedia stuff like watching movies, a bit of picture touching up with picasa, that's all.
want a smaller one for mobility's sake.

Dell's offering seems ok, how about other brands? Would you recommend a 14"? because prices of some 14" seem to be cheaper

Performance is not really an issue here, so i guess sandy bridge is out of the picture for now.

1. Brand - Any brand except Acer
2. Budget - ~RM2k or less
3. Specs - not really important, will be plus point if got dedicated GPU
4. Size - 14" or smaller
5. Other remarks - female user, normal usage such as movies, drama, internet browsing, microsoft office, and some engineering software and programming like matlab and C++.
6. Warranty - which would be easier to warranty, in case of any damage
