Yup, since its a Quad core notebook
QUOTE(kazeko @ Dec 11 2010, 06:51 PM) My toshiba laptop that has been running for more than 5 years dead already.... Since HP would cost more to get equivalent specs...Planning to get a new laptop soon... Was thinking of either HP or toshiba because they are more famous brands. Why here keep recommend asua/acer/dell??Are they better? Using mostly for heavy web-surfing and microsoft and some gaming. Budget is 3k-4k must have 3 yrs warranty But most importantly need to be well built laptop la.. Dont wish to have to keep deal with problems. And after-sales service must be good if not very stressful. Please advice me! You can consider Dell XPS 15 with i7 740QM and nVidia GT435M and upgrade its warranty to 3 years... The basic model with RM2999 is using i5, but you could only pair it with GT420M..
To get the better GPU, GT435M, you would need to configure it with i7 740QM.. Unfortunately for now, the FullHD option is missing... But if you want lesser heat/better battery life, pick the i5 model... This post has been edited by lee_what2004: Dec 11 2010, 07:52 PM |

QUOTE(kazeko @ Dec 12 2010, 06:57 PM) Hi again. Bad buy..Just want to say thanks for the recommendations and i bought a Dell studio XPS 1647 i5-m430 @ 2.27 Ghz. But~ what is xps 1647?? i thought it should be xps 15 something?? I asked the seller he said its just the model name... I hope i got the right one ... But the screen he said is Full HD and i think its really good... But just use few hours... Btw the price is 3899 havent plus 3 yrs warranty... Should i upgrade ? Edit: Dont know if this is neccesary but my computer is using ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4670 So.... Good or Bad buy?? It is SXPS 1647, not XPS 15 (newer model, named L501x) You paid overpriced, if you order online from Dell MY, SXPS 1647 with i5 460M 2.53GHz and ATi HD5730 just cost RM3399.... |

A42Ja better performance, but lower battery life....
p/s: if just wifi problem, you can always opt for usb wifi, cheaper than getting a new laptop if the old one still working fine except the wifi.. |
