call or chat with the sales agent

Hi again!!  blush.gif

The last time i was here had a recommendation on Lenovo z460...Pretty impressed when i had a look at it...
But trying to see any more suggestion which is below rm2k and still get a laptop with a pretty good spec in it...just want to know how low price can i go...

AGAIN....

This is a topic for EVERYBODY out there that needs special recommendation on buying a new laptop...

To request recommendation, what u need to post:

1. Brand - any
2. Budget - below rm2k
3. Specs - (around Lenovo z460?? Using it for photo editting and the only game i play is DotA)
4. Size - just not too heavy XD

Any new topic regarding recommendations shall be closed/deleted without explaination...
*

QUOTE(kazeko @ Dec 12 2010, 07:45 PM)
Okay im calling the seller now but i will disclose their company name first untill i get it done
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
On the phone...  L501x does not have Full HD. something about if want full HD they will just change on the spot like that.
Studio XPS 1647 has Full HD screen.

Seller : Alot people buy online last time. But now they go for dealer. Because they find that online is not so reliable. So now most people go for dealer
(and my dealer is quite a well-known one.is it ok if i put their name?) the extra price difference is NOT A SCAM but actually because buying online they will add on this and that and the price come to almost the same.

Would you guys choose SXPS 1647 i5-M430 ,ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4670 or the L501x??
*
U have been scammed by the seller edi
just like what lee said
u can get better processor and graphics card at a lower price
what u mean by buying online will add this and that?
rclxub.gif
u can actually customize yourself and get to know what final price before paying them(can nego with the sales agent also)
where and when did u buy it?

Bought it at Digital Mall just now around 3.30-4.30
From EverNew .. i do not know much about this company but my father prefer to buy from them  because previous laptop also bought from this company...

DAMN!!
*
Well, just treat it as a lesson.
Next time, before buying costly gadgets, it will be better if u research the specifications and prices properly.
Anyway, thx for the input, I will avoid that shop

Between the N43Jq and A42Ja, the A42Ja will have better gaming performance due to the better GPU  nod.gif
But N43Jq is of higher quality and has additional features like the speakers, design, built etc. Not sure whether the A42Ja has USB 3.0 onot hehe  laugh.gif
So it depends on whether you want better specs/performance, or more features/ quality.
Both laptops will be pretty poor in terms of battery life though laugh.gif
*
XPS 15 will have USB 3.0, brows.gif
A42Ja don't have it le, if it have can pawn XPS 15 99

QUOTE(unta @ Dec 14 2010, 11:32 AM)
hello guys, can you recommend me any other laptop models that can beat this spec and the price is still in the range of RM2300 to RM2600

This is Dell Inspiron 15R (RMRM 2,499)
Intel® Core™ i5-460M Processor (2.53Ghz, 4Threads, turbo boost up to 2.8GHz, 3M cache)
Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium 64bit (English)
4GB (2 X 2 GB) 2 DIMM DDR3 1333Mhz
500GB 7200RPM Hard Drive
15.6 Widescreen HD WLED Glossy Display with TrueLife™ (1366x768)
ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 5650 - 1GB

do take note that i don't care about the battery life, i don't care about the weight and i don't care about the screen size. all i want is the better spec tongue.gif. as a student, i will be using it MAINLY for some words, online and of course watching movies. i've got my own PC that i built for gaming. BUT of course, it will be a bonus that the laptop that i want to buy can do gaming to smile.gif. thanx guys!
*
Meantime, is the best for the specs provided, anyway extend your battery if you're going to use it for a long period of time as many people sayd Inspiron heats up easily

why do you say better take Mac  laugh.gif  sweat.gif
*
Advantage of Macs over PC is here

Summary

1) Mac's OS are user friendly and can utilize Mac's programmes when you use iPod, iPhone etc. If you like Windows, you can legally install it and can use both of the OS. U cannot do that on a PC.

2) Macs have a kinda professional looking design (backlit keyboard, backlit Apple logo, Chiclets-style key, etc). Yes, there are PC which have those "high end" looks but most are getting inspiration from Macs.

3) Have got good default software such as iPhoto, iMovie, Garage Band, iWeb and iDvd. PCs may have programmes like Windows Media Player, Windows Movie Maker, etc but also include many junk softwares. Lucky if u can get more than 30days trial

biggrin.gif
Just summarising from the web.

Either Asus U41Jf or Acer 4820TG out of those five...

As for Sandy Bridge, if you can wait, then wait.
*
+1 to this
biggrin.gif
the main difference would be the warranty and price of course.
Asus U41Jf@RM2999 2years global warranty
Acer 4820Tg@RM2599 1 year warranty(need someone to clarify whether it's global or not tongue.gif, lee?)
U41Jf might have slightly better battery life

Your ITW is not applicable in the country wherein you purchase the notebook. It's only applicable in countries, where ITW service sites are provided.

If i buy at Malaysia and it did not provide the service in Malaysia it is not applicable?
= =
Meaning I buy at Malaysia and other country provide that service I will be treated with that service only I'm oversea?

Customers are responsible for providing the "Recovery and Software Backup"disks when requested to facilitate quicker repair actions.

To comply with Microsoft's licensing regulations, the ITW does not cover software-related issues.

QUOTE(Highpoint @ Dec 15 2010, 11:25 PM)
Hi guys,

First of all, there are 2 types of warranty in the market.. one that comes bundled with 1 year and the other one with 3 years warranty.

For the machine bundled with 1 year warranty :- the warranty is applicable for local and international for 1 year. If customers purchased acer supercare extended warranty to 3 years, the notebook will be covered internationally for the full 3 years.
For the machine bundled with 3 years warranty(normally during promotions such as PC fair & etc) :- the 1st year is for local and international while the 2nd and 3rd year is for local only. If customers would like to have full 3 years international warranty, they will need to purchase acer supercare extended warranty as well.

ITW is known as international travellers warranty. Just to briefly explain what it means by ITW.
In case if you (a Malaysian) purchase a notebook from Singapore, and return to Malaysia, you will not be known as traveller as you are considered a resident of Malaysia thus ITW claim is not applicable. However, you shall be able to claim ITW as long as you are known as traveller in other respective country.

Rgds,
HSN

Seemed like the ITW is not so attractive
