Based on my experience of 3 times bricking ( first time careless, second and 3rd time just to to test and experiment ) , if you have a unit with the 3 buttons disabled, do not use the adb approach to go into download mode. I tried and noticed some roms are OK while some roms cannot installed and you will brick it. The safest and surest way is to go into download mode by applying the above XDA method. After done, use the 3 buttons to go into download mode. And always remember when you change rom, you have to do the 3 buttons setup again ( toi be safe ).

Infact I do not recommend a newbie to change roms on unit with 3 buttons disabled unless you are very familiar and know what you are doing. The chance you brick is high as I have learn from 3X bricking !!

Now I have learn from my mistakes and experimenting, I know I will never ever brick it again. For me is no big deal, brick justr take it down to Spore Samsung Centre only 1.5 hours away and reflash rom - it is FREE and in all 3 ocassions I got my unit back within 3 to 4 hours

I mean that is the only way - use the steps outline in the XDA link. I'd say it is very safe and reliable, It is unlikely you will brick your phone doing it

The only chance you will brick it is using ADB to go to download mode ( if your phone has 3 buttons disabled ). I thought my post was quite clear , which part you dont understand ?

You should test it at several locations that has wifi. If problem persists, send in for warranty claim

Not true . The amount of data downloaded is so small . I used to use Google Maps brut before I purchased Papago . Example even on roaming when I was in Spore driving around about 5 hours, the data charges not even 2 ringgit ( that includes download checking email every hour on 3 mail accounts )
