the "no value" thingy is part of the interview script.

its not that the interviewer is telling u to get lost, so dont misunderstand.

probation means : "are u suited for wat we hired u for"

not "if u perform up to our expectation u get a raise"

it does not make business sense to give u a raise for "performing up to par only"

if u r good performer, appraisal time i revise. not upon confirmation.

I thnk it means how quickly can you pick up the job and be good at it. Perhaps they want to hear how (related to the job) and what method you will use to learn more quickly to familiarise.
