Hi guys, i'm planning to change my Gen2 cps standard absorber to new sets of absorber afetr 2++ years nod.gif
i think my absorber kong oledi cause i'm using GAB lowered spring..maybe the working stroke of the spring and the absorber different give more stress to the absorber thus failed earlier than expected..my best option now is Improve Comfort Series absorber but the price quoted quite high (rm680 include installation) since the absorber is almost same with OEM, uprated little bit without compromising comfort..most importantly it compatible with any type of spring and heavy duty..but due to budget constrain, i found list of cheaper alternative that seem relevan with my requirement...

1. Sach super touring
2. APM OEM replacement
3. Sapura Proride
4. RGT grancruiser
5. A Fuji
6. GAB White series
7. KONIWA and etc

hope u guys can help me choosing best absorber and please feel free to add more option..TQ rclxms.gif

p/s: My preference is comfort, compatible with GAB lowered spring, heavy duty and long lasting nod.gif

If you intend to get performance and comfort at the same condition, its very hard.
Either you sacrifice Comfort or Performance.
If you looking for

Comfort= Standard OEM spring,Aftermarket Replacement OEM absorber.
Semi Comfort= Sport Lowered Coil,Aftermarket Replacement OEM absorber.
Semi Performance= Sport Lowered Coil,Aftermarket Short Stroke Absorber
Hard Performance= Adjustable.Either High-Low or High-Low-Soft-Hard for flexible all road condition tuning.

If deep pocket doesnt allow you much, get a set from Sapura Proride and APM absorber. Why Sapura ? I believe Sapura is Malaysia and APM been RND absorber for Malaysia road condition.
Most of imported like Tein(thus now they have Malaysia based abs),Ohlins,Blistein,Showa,D1 etc.... follow only their country road condition.By that, the operating weather condition and rebound rate are totally different.Thats why you bump saying "Tein is the hardest absorber ever".So you know which spec is belong to which.

Im not really GAB fan.As i know GAB company closed long time ago.

im currently using Sapura Short Stroke Abs.
It may be hard and sacrifices comfort(where you bumps often) but really worth of money.
If you ask me again which,i would recommand APM.APM Performax perform really good.I heard they god other version of APM's for street use.

But hell, dont buy Brothers APM.They dont even have proof from Factory Output.

apm performax abs + apm performax sports spring is fine for me. just that it sacrifice a little on comfort but it make up more than enough in term of handling.

actually those absorbers u listed are more or less the same if they are oem replacement.. but most of the time u wont have the chance to install one, test, then install second set and test so in the end as long as the absorber works fine (especially when ur ori kong edi), u will be satisfied..

anyway, regarding the fact that locally made absorber are taylored to suit malaysian road, i only can say mostly are gimmick.. if u disagree, please let me know how they actually taylor the absorber to suit the road condition? based on what parameters?
if create an absorber that can suit the worst road ever, why u think the absorber will have problem if used in best road ever?

those are ur definitions, it doesnt reflect the whole market anywhere..
for example, it is not wise to pair lowered spring with oem shocks due to the lowered height of the spring.. u gona kill the shocks ASAP

wow... except for APM and GAB I don't even recognize any of the other brands.

I would suggest adjustable but I guess it's way out of TS budget.

hmm.gif Hmmm, pairing the wrong set of absorber/spring combination will only shorten your absorber life span, sport absorbers are short stroke, OEM are long stroke. They work best if paired in the right combination.

SACHS super touring is good. I would say balance sitting in between both....

Can try IMP comfort if you want... or A Fuji, I think the seller offer customizable damping rate...

i once use to ride my fren gen2 with HWL adjustable..very hard to my liking even i heard a lot of comment that HWL adjustable is one of the comfort oriented adjustable, thats why i dont really like adjustable.. wink.gif
the reason i opted for cheaper alternative coz when u expect the absorber will fail earlier than expected (lets say at least 2 years base on my standard abs) when paired with lowered spring, regardless the brand of the absorber..why would u choose more expensive option when there are cheaper alternative with same durability...btw thank u guys for the replies notworthy.gif
